Hume Lake is my favorite camp site in Sequioa. The lake water is fresh and I love it. The Christian camp next door has a store and gas so thats a plus.

Hume Lake is a fun campground for families. We enjoyed our stay in Site 32 even though it started out very frustrating. The US Forest Service decided to pave the roads in the all the campgrounds surrounding Hume Lake on the day our reservation started. So we were left stranded and scrambling to find another place for our 26 foot motorhome to camp for 3 nights. It was really disappointing and we were very upset that our trip (that had been planned many months in advance) was derailed. Once we were allowed into the campground (after finding another spot 1 hour away from Hume for 3 nights) we set up camp. We enjoyed paddle boarding on the lake, walking to the general store, and watching deer walk through our camp site. Our RV fit perfectly into the driveway and was easy to level. There was plenty of spots for our tents and we weren’t too close to other campsites. The walk to the lake took 5 minutes. The bathrooms were dirty but there is running water and flushing toilets. There is drinking water at spickets in the campground. The kids enjoyed riding bikes and playing laser tag in the trees. Downside… Hume Lake is becoming very popular for day trips and the lake road was really loud behind our campsite. The peaceful Hume Lake experience of my childhood is gone and is now filled with loud music, lots of people, cars parked everywhere, and rowdy lake goers.

Can’t wait to go back! So much fun..we had the perfect spot. Kids rented kayaks found rocks to jump off of into the lake..Went to the little market, got souvenirs at the gift shop and a yummy shake and burger from the little snack shop! Can’t wait till next summer!
