I was a little unprepared for the rain on the last night and had to pack up wet tarps, tent, etc. otherwise it was a great trip. Its an annual trip for me so I always look forward to it and it never disappoints. And a quick note - The hosts were fantastic considering they were taking care of 5 different campgrounds. Really deserve a little extra as they still kept up with everything.

It has gotten hotter in this campground since the removal of so many trees due to the death of these trees from bark beetles. In our site alone there were a dozen trees cut down. Bring an EZ up for shade if you plan to be in your campsite during the day. The majority of campers were in RVs, and generators ran a lot, probably from the use of air conditioners during the day. Out of 30 sites in the loop, there were only 5 tent sites, including ours, and I don't like the generator noise. The campground was fully booked. We stayed for a week, the last week in June, and have camped here almost every summer for over 20 years. The lake water was nice and full, and my husband caught trout 3 out of the 4 days he went out. The weekends get crowded at the lake due to people visiting for the day, and it was hard to find a place lakeside to put out chairs in the shade Saturday and Sunday. You could find spots in the sun, but we forgot our beach umbrella and needed to cool off. Overall a great trip with the heat and generator noise the only negatives.

This is our second year camping at Hume Lake and we absolutely love it there!!! There really is not a bad spot in the campsite. The camp host's Pete and Edie were so helpful and super friendly! They made our stay so much better! Can't wait to go back next year!!!!

The Lake has a spiritual and tranquil feeling about it. They do not allow motor boats of any kind, so all you see and hear are kayaks, paddle boards, rowboats and sailboats. The water is not clear, so don't bother with snorkel gear. The campsites are fairly private and plenty large enough. We did not see any bears, but there were bears sighted the previous week. Be sure to take bikes and bike around the entire lake. Takes about an hour or so.There is a Christian Camp at one end of the lake and they have a general store for food, camping, medicine and of course ice cream. They also have a gas pump for both gasoline and diesel. I have been going there over the last 30 years years with my parents, children and now also my grandchildren. A very special place!
