A very nice campground. Clean. Feels very much in the remote forest for being so close to Sante Fe.

Overall, Black Canyon is a very beautiful park. The hiking trails are easy to follow and are clean and the views are amazing. My only major feedback is with regard to the restrooms/latrines. I was at the park for 4 days and I don't believe they were cleaned even once. There was no an attempt to sanitize or help with the smell that would spread across the entire campsite in the afternoon to the point we'd have to leave during the day - note I stayed in spot #20 - which is very close. I completely understand these are latrines so there's an expectation there will be a smell. However, I went to a state park in Colorado directly after staying at Black Canyon and the cleanliness of their latrines vs Black Canyon was astounding. Everything had been scrubbed clean and was twice a day and we never once smelled the latrines. Other than that, we did really enjoy our time at Black Canyon. I would encourage folks to visit - just don't reserve a spot near the latrines. I would allow at least two campsites between yourself and the closest latrine.

Campsite was a tight fit and right next to road so noisy. No cell service at all. Beautiful campground but be careful which site you reserve!
