The Camp host seem to do nothing but collect money and check on status of campsites. They dont clean a fire pits and they dont clean the campsite and they dont clean the restrooms.

We have been going to Black Canyon for 20 years and it is one of our favorite spots. This year the camp host ( the Whitehouse family) was one of the best we have ever experienced. Scott and Jessica were always looking out for the campers and keeping the camp ground in tip too shape.

Very nice campground with close proximity to downtown Santa Fe. There has not been any water available for several years and this is a problem. There are numerous hikes to take nearby that border the road to the Santa Fe Ski Basin.

Great campground hosts. Clean facilities. Close to the high mountains and high desert. Our favorite campground.

We had a great time camping with two RVs at Site 23 in July of 2021. This campground is small and fairly quiet, and the friendly hosts keep the vault toilets and dumpsters in good shape. My only warning is that you do not bring bigger rigs into this tiny park. The roads are twisty, and the USFS has put concrete wheel blocks into the sites so you cannot use every inch of the site. We saw several larger Class A's and Fifth Wheelers try and fail to get parked.

Also, you are boondocking here with no electricity and no water. Don't count on your solar panels because the trees are tall and you will be in shadow most of the days even when it's sunny. If you need to run a CPAP at night, you may need to charge up your battery pack with a generator before "quiet time" (which is 10 pm in this park).
