BEAUTIFUL!! Nice level and super clean spaces. Restrooms super clean and the hosts were great at communicating and easily available. Campground also situated so close to a number of wonderful UTV trails. Would stay here, again, without hesitation.

Great location on the way to Telluride. Took the dirtbike up Bowlan Pass to the high meadows, could have kept going. Went up the other side towards Lizardhead wilderness and Dunton. lots to see and do. Hunting Elk season and lots of people out. FULL campground, had to prove my stay to other people who wanted to walk up. No camp host during my stay to referee. Dump station full. Creek is cool, flood debris and trash in the trees. Good for big RV's...any other way of camping you should just head up into the trees on either side of the canyon.

Scenic, quiet, clean and private: Cayton Campground has all the things you want for a perfect camping experience. The hosts are so friendly and helpful, and the campground is immaculately kept. Even the pit toilets have zero smell and are perfectly maintained! The access to fresh water and convenient electrical hookups are a big plus. We especially loved falling asleep to the sound of the Dolores River. Telluride is only a short drive away. Highly recommend!!

The camp hosts were the friendliest people I've ever met and do a great job of keeping the campground in good shape. There are too many things close to this location to mention, but all of them are worth checking out! We had a great time and look forward to returning.

The Clayton Campground outside of Rico, Colorado is a very well-maintained and beautiful place. Next to a stream (although we didn't have mosquitos), and in the beautiful towering pines of the foothills... Telluride and Ouray are within driving distance, Lizard Head Pass and other hiking opportunities are nearby.

Located right on the upper Deloris River (and unfortunately just below Highway 145) Cayton Campground is a mixed bag. The sites are comfortable and well laid out. The grounds are clean and the restrooms are the same. The location is a little too close to the roadway, but I would stay there again.

Great stay. The rest rooms were very clean and the sites well prepped. Hosts were most helpful. Need to work on the bridge on the access rd. Very rough.

We had an electric site (6) which worked out well.
It was a good distance from the neighbors.
A person had renewed appreciation for Forest Service campgrounds after being packed in like sardines in a private campground. The hosts were very helpful, friendly, and worked hard maintaining the facilities.

We've been coming to Colorado for the last 21 summers but had never been to this area. It is absolutely beautiful. Cayton campground is in the middle of the beauty, well-appointed, clean, and the campground hosts were friendly and helpful.
