Loved the campground. Very clean, easy to maneuver a trailer, good spacing and access to the lakeshore.

Cayton Campground is an excellent place to hang your hat for a few days or more. We had site number 11, which was so close to the rushing water, it was phenomenal. There are plenty of sites with space between them and others that are a little bit closer. The campground is around great hikes, fishing spots, and is extremely clean. The hosts were truly magnificent. We look forward to coming back to Cayton one day soon.

Excellent location, very well maintained grounds and very friendly hosts. We were in A11 which had big trees and lots of shade. The river was right behind our site. We plan on returning to this campground again.

Clean campground. River that runs by is more like a little creek. $15 to dump but when we were getting ready to leave and dump there was no one around to pay or unlock dump station.

We stayed 2 nights in our 32 foot RV. We had electrical hook up and the camp ground has potable water and a dump station which was really good to have. Our campsite was very spacious and the area is beautiful. The host was very friendly and responsive to our needs. The highway is close by so you hear some road noise, but the river sound helps to reduce the road noise. Would recommend trying to reserve as far from the road as possible.

Great camp site along the Dolores river. I would recommend going up the access road connected to the camp ground, it was beautiful.

A camper was in our reserved spot so we were moved to another undesirable spot.

Nice campground, good spacing between most sites. Excellent location for hiking, close to many trailheads. Hosts do a good job maintaining campground. We did not realize there was a spigot available to fill fresh water tanks, but you can't always trust them. We did not utilize the rest rooms but the hosts seemed to be cleaning them frequently. The only not so good thing is the road noise, the electric sites are pretty close to the road, but it gets quiet at night. Overpriced gas in Rico 7 miles away but you can get an RV in there, we paid $3@ for regular, next nearest gas is either Telluride or Dolores, I suggest filling up on the way in. The gas station in Rico also has a small convenience store. And no comm at all, no cell service, we had to go to Rico to get cell service. No TV and I don't think there are any radio stations either. There are also many popular dispersed camping sites, especially north of Cayton.
