Amazing campground, seriously one of the best I've ever been to. Clean bathrooms, great views of the lake, fresh water and power for my camper trailer. The only negative is it was very expensive. $106 a night for the site I stayed at. At this price, it's hard to say if I can justify going back, at least to the premium campsite I rented.

Haviland Lake was amazing! We stayed in site 43 and it was perfect. The site is one that is on the lake and has electricity. There is a water faucet right across next to site 44. The camp hosts were very helpful and friendly,.and also had firewood for sale. Bathrooms were clean. We will definitely come back! Do bring spray bc the mosquitoes were everywhere, especially in the evenings.

This is a beautiful location with abundant trees and the lake for kayaking. There is an excellent trail from the campground. Toilet facilities were immaculate and the hosts were very helpful and friendly.

Weather was great. Caught our limit of fish. Hosts were wonderful going beyond their duties. Cannot wait to go again.

I loved my lakeside spot with my van. I enjoyed a beautiful sunset k er the mountains while I walked the small lake trail. Great resting spot on the way from CO to AZ.

We had a lakefront site. Altho it was more money, it was very worth it! Nice short trail to the lake. The campsites were well taken care of. Very nice experience.

Our maiden voyage with our new trailer exceeded my expectations. Started with a greeting ftom the camp hosts and escorting us to our perfectly manicured campsite. Camp hosts would check on everyone several times during the day. Vault bathrooms were kept immaculate and became our preference than using our trailer. Definitely will be returning to this gem!

I was very disappointed. I resurveyed the camp site on line and was very excited to be next to a lake that the kids could go fishing in. After driving 15 hour we arrived to find the lake had been drained and there was no chance of fishing. The kids were understandably upset. After talking to the camp manager she informed me that the lake had been drained and would remain empty for the next couple of year.
The only reason I’m giving this two stars is because the camp site was very clean and well maintained.
But this doesn’t make up for the fact that there should’ve been a notice on the website/registration that the lake was empty and there was/is no fishing. We ended up leaving early.

I went here with a few of my classmates and although the lake was dried up we still drove to other lakes nearby. The campsite was very clean. Nice environment, felt safe the whole time. The bathrooms were nice and clean. It was also very convenient that Durango was only 18 miles away.

Wish they had posted on the website the make was drained. Not only did my lake side premium spot not feel premium, I actually had to get a double fee spot for one day that I did not even end up using (2nd day) because the mosquitos were so bad. :(If the lake was full, it looks like it would be awesome. If they posted the lake was not full, would not have been as frustrated.

No water in Lake due to dam construction - yet the entire week we were there, no construction took place. It is a beautiful location - make sure the water is there before going, though. And take bug spray for the mosquitoes!
