Beautiful, quiet campground. Too many flies this time.

Buggy but Haviland was worse. Quiet campsites!

Fairly large but well-maintained campground. Our site on the D loop was quiet and peaceful. There is a nice hiking trail that begins here but it is rocky and not flat so don't set out in your shorts and flip flops like I saw some people doing.

The WORST campground in our 7 week road trip! Attempted murder in the campsite across from us in the middle of the night and a big confederate flag hanging in the hosts' campsite as you drive into the campground. The attempted murder could have been prevented had the host enforced the quiet zone at 10pm. The group was drinking and partying the entire night up until 3am when a very drunk couple started arguing with gross obscenities for an hour which resulted in the woman throwing a machete at her boyfriend and her getting assaulted by the others. Then she drove away drunk. I called the police prior to the attack. They caught her and took him to the hospital. Meanwhile my three kids are in the tent with me terrified. The host came around in the morning completely oblivious to what had happened and said I should have gotten him because he couldn't hear it. I said I didn't feel safe leaving my kids in the tent with that going on and he should have done his rounds at 10pm and he would have seen and heard the loud parties going on all around. We left that morning and got a hotel for the second night. In addition to this dangerous event there were other very loud campsites late into the night which were not silenced. And after barely sleeping that night I was woken up at 6:30am by a pack of screaming kids who were also not silenced by the host. Also, how could a nationally managed campground allow the host to display the confederate flag so openly on at the park entrance? We didn't feel welcomed and we're a white family. I can't imagine how anyone of color must feel when they drive into the campgrounds. We will never camp here again, that's for sure.
