Very good family and beginner campground. The sites were clean and there were water spigots easily available all around. The bathrooms and showers were clean enough and there was never a wait. The staff were very friendly and you felt safe knowing they drive around to make sure everything is ok. Firewood is $8 a bundle and you can buy it at the check in kiosk. Since it is a family campground, expect to hear kids having good time. That didnt bug me at all as the noise died down after around 10pm.The only thing that actually bugged me is the site we were at (78) was way too close to the highway! We didnt realize the highway would be so busy. It was hard to fall asleep as cars and trucks passed by constantly from sunset till around midnight. It kind of ruined the quiet night time experience we were hoping for. In the dead of night you will probably hear the coyotes in the distance screaming and howling. That was actually kind of exciting!I think we would come back here and stay in the middle of the campground as far away from the highway.

Great campsite with plenty of room to set up a large tent or to accomoadate a group of people. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to Big Bear Lake and about a smilier 10 minute walk to Cougar Crest Trail, a popular hiking spot with great views. The campsite itself is well shaded with a sunny spot in the middle if you need some sun light. There is enough distance between the campsite and the next ones neighboring so you do not feel like invading others personal space. The restrooms are a short walk away and they are very clean with flushing toilets. In addition there are showers with warm water too just in case you want to freshen up.
