Great campground, nearby trails, close to the lake. Town is just a few minutes away if you need to grab supplies.

We stayed at double campsite 14/15 on November 17-19, 2023. The site was very spacious for our scout troop. Double bear boxes and double picnic tables were working and in good order. Campsite and bathrooms were clean. Restrooms are a bit of a walk and the site has the road running right behind it so you will get some traffic noise at night. Moderate amount of trees and shade on site. Four cars fit easily in the parking space. We really enjoyed staying at Serrano even though it was really cold and rained on Friday night. Other visitors were courteous and not noisy at all. Easy walk to Cougar Crest Trail and the Big Bear Discovery Center. The lake is close by but we didn't get a chance to walk down there. Fire wood is on sale at the entry kiosk. We were right next to the water spigot. You might want to bring a small hose to hook up to the hose bib because the water goes everywhere. We found a couple geocaches on Cougar Crest Trail, spent some time at the Discovery Center, and visited Big Bear Village. After campfire, we were pretty tired and cold so ended our day at 9pm. Clear and dark sky gave a great view of the stars.

We stayed at double campsite #14/15. Our group really loved this campground! The bathrooms were very clean and access to hot showers was a plus! Will definitely be coming back this summer.

Serrano Campground is the gateway drug to camping. This is where we bring friends who aren't sure if they really like the great outdoors. The sites are gorgeous and well organized so you feel like you have plenty of space and great views. The facilities are exceptionally clean. And the camp hosts are amazing. The ONLY negative is that this a great campground for those cold weather months too, but you'll have the song of the nocturnal generator-bird in your ear in the evenings and early mornings from the massive RVs and campers that you'll share the campground with. Totally worth it all the same. I highly recommend Double Sites 14/15 and 19/20.

The campground was beautiful. The hosts seem to go to clean the sites as soon as occupants check out, and these are probably the cleanest sites I have ever stayed in. The bathrooms were also the cleanest camping bathrooms I've seen. The rangers at the entrance are very polite and professional. Make sure you check the weather for your stay - we stayed in May and it was in the 30's at night. People being noisy after hours is usually an issue when we camp, but didn't notice it here.

The campsite was lovely, it was not difficult to access bathrooms or other amenities. Lovely location close to the lake, which made the hiking paths nice and accessible.
