We made a last minute reservation and it was also our first time at Serrano. We were very happy with our site and the layout which gave us plenty of space. We walked to the lake both days but were disappointed that there was no access where we could let the dog get his paws wet. Too marshy. Still made for a good walk . Bathrooms and campground were clean and maintained daily. We will plan another trip soon.

Very nice camping experience. The restrooms and showers are clean. One can see the stats so brilliantly at night. Sites are not on top of each other. Close drive to almost anything around town.

We stayed at campsite #83 Loved it. Very close to the restrooms that are kept very clean and spacious sites. Close proximity to Big Bear City, just loved the whole atmosphere ,that a month after this visit we are going back and staying 3 nights instead of 2 : )

One of the best, if not the best park we stayed at on our 25-day trip. Good spacing between sites, level pads for parking, a choice of sun, partial sun, or shade. The reception rangers were great. Bathrooms were spotless, and shower rooms (each individual) were hot and clean. To top it off, there was a paved multi-use trail through the park and to town.

Nice campground, a little more traffic noise than I expected at times. No cost hot showers, a definite bonus, Bertha Peak hike starts near the entrance to the camp ground. A little challenging in the last mike but a great panoramic view of the lake and mountains.

My site was great and I enjoyed the location and friendliness of the park ranger and campground hosts who came by and kept an eye on the place. A few campsites away there was a group partying and having a good time I don't mind the noise it wasn't crazy and out of control or anything, and it got cold and super dark qucikly after sunset so I retreated to my tent. I heard close sounding noises a couple times and accounted it to being both the first time I've camped on my own and since a child so I wasnt too worried, probably just squirrels. About 11:30 I came out to brave the cold for a late-night snack before passing out and when I went to my bear-box that was definitly properly closed it was opened. I yelled once about theives. Nothing was missing tho, I suspect someone was looking for some extra booze & I dont drink. I found a small lock in my car and locked it for the rest of the night. Aside from learning that I need outside lights until I go to bed at night, and to use the lockable spot to lock my food down, it was a pretty good experience. Wish I'd have stayed 3 nights instead of 2!

It was our first time camping in Big Bear. I would definitely camp here again. It was a very nice clean and super quiet campground. There were free showers. It was in a good location. Walking distance to the lake and bike trail. It was also very close to some good hiking trails. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We had a campsite booked for 4 nights. We ended up leaving a day early and were happily surprised to be refunded for the night. The two concerns we had were 1- there were no signs posted telling people to wear masks in the bathrooms. So only about half the people did. 2 - they clearly did not enforce limiting the amount of families per site like the website suggests. Most multi sites still had multiple families with 4-6 adults and 4-6 kids per site. Which I guess is fine if they stay in their area but that means the shared bathrooms have twice as many people using them as they should. And like I said above, half the people dont wear masks into those shared bathrooms.

Very nice campground. Clean bathrooms and showers. The campground itself is very clean. Lots of squirrels so don't leave food out. The camp host was very friendly. I will definitely be coming back.
