The campground is overall great! The map is amazing. I only wished I had it on me before I reserved a campsite there. The campsite #27 that we stayed at has pros and cons... It is located near a very clean restroom. It has a nice climbing tree for kids and is big enough to provide a space for a hammock. It is surrounded by bushes and is further away from other campsites so we were provided some privacy. It also provided a bear-proof box. The cons: The site is overrun with relentlessly aggressive ground squirrels - the ones that would climb inside and under our vehicle to look for anything to eat, and approach too close to us to steal whatever has fallen on the ground. The tent area is not graded flat. We would have pitched our tent on the asphalt of the parking slot if it is not swarming with tiny red ants.

loved this campsite! great area and near walking/running/bike path. Wish you could get in and swim in the lake from here but that’s ok.. still great!

Best campground in Big Bear Lake that I've been to. They have water hookups, showers and plush toilets. You can also charge your phone at their restroom. The site is always clean and well maintained. Campfires are allowed if there is no ongoing wildfire near San Bernardino mountains. Even if it's cold season Campfire may be prohibited so always check by calling them first before coming here.
