This campsite was wonderful! Lot #13 was mostly flat, with a good place for the tent in the shade, and was a short stroll from the bathrooms and trash (which was convenient). There was a little mouse that kept getting into the bear box, so make sure your food items are in a plastic bin that rodents can't get through (we wrapped our food in a garbage bag, a towel, and a canvas bag - the mouse chewed through everything except the canvas!). The bathrooms were sparking clean, and it was nice to have access to showers. Will be returning to this campsite again!

We always have a great and positive experience here at Serrano Campgrounds. This time we stayed at Site 13 and it was bliss. Checking in was smooth and the Front Staff and rangers were positive, cheerful, quick to assist and amazing. Site was well maintained and clean, just a walk down to the restroom facilities. Restrooms and showers were always clean and stocked during our 3-night stay. The grounds and lake were pretty quiet as well, not sure if it was also because it was the weekend of Coachella (which we did not know at the time). Heads up that traffic, getting there, doubled our drive time but still wasn't too bad (3 hours total). Our stay was as the beginning of April, there was still snow (or mostly ice) and weather was cool. The sun is still pretty strong so make sure to cover up, wear sunblock and/or a hat.

Site 013 is spacious (room for more than one tent) and walking distance to the restrooms (which are spacious, clean and well maintained). The path to the restroom runs along side the campsite which means your neighbors will be passing through on occasion. Unfortunately, we had a few boys using the path as their personal e-scooter race track during our stay. The campground is very family friendly, almost to a fault. Walking distance to the lake, biking and hiking trails. The main highway is fairly close, so the traffic noise is always present.

We had the best experience. Bathrooms and showers were super clean. Campsite #13 was perfect. Shaded spot and flat ground for tens. Huge log for extra seating, and was able to hang a hammock. Plenty of space from other campers, just the right distance to the restrooms, the lake is a walkable distance. Only draw back was the noise from the nearby road. Surprised at the amount of traffic in the late night/early morning, but besides that awesome stay!

This review is to thank Lanny who works on maintenance at the park and was incredibly helpful and kind to us in helping get us settled at the campground! My girlfriend and I are relatively new to camping and we were having trouble getting our tent setup. After asking for help, Lanny quickly came to assist us and couldn't have been more helpful in getting us settled in at our campsite. Lanny not only took the lead in helping us setup the tent, he took the time to explain each detail to us so that we could learn for the future. After helping us get the tent in order, Lanny also went out of his way to teach us the best and safest way to start and maintain a fire in the firepit, and told us we could reach out to him if we needed anything else. Lanny did all this with a kind demeanor and a smile on his face. Thanks so much Lanny! You were an absolute lifesaver and made us feel much more comfortable for our trip. I'll feel much more comfortable returning to the campground after this experience knowing people like you are around!

The Serrano Campground was very well maintained. Clean facilities and walking distance to Big Bear Lake make it ideal for a weekend getaway. Lots of walking/hiking trails nearby, as well as, biking trails. The campground host was very nice and personable. She answered any and all questions we had regarding the surrounding areas and the campground itself. The spaces are a bit on the small side but I consider that a plus. Our particular space had very nice tree coverings for shade, but also from our neighboring campers. The biggest con for me was that it is very close to the main road so you are able to hear traffic, especially throughout the night. Would definitely consider going to Serrano again in the future.

Park hosts are awesome and do such a nice job cleaning up and raking the sites. It's a bit of bummer that there aren't more pine needles on the ground (away from the fire rings) but I understand this is due to fuel load. Unfortunately, it makes for a dustier experience.
