We had a fantastic time at Hanna Flat. The sites were clean and well cared for and the bathrooms were immaculate. Usually vault toilets are dirty and smelly but these were clean and surprisingly didn't stink! Both camp hosts were fantastic and they do a great job of maintaining the entire campground. We arrived on a Friday and the campground was moderately full. By Sunday we may have been the only group there. So peaceful and quiet. We will be back for sure.

The reservation process is flawed. It's too easy to reserve multiple spots and keep others from getting reservations. For some reason, nearly all the campsites were reserved for Saturday on the weekend we were going. But the sites were not all taken the time we were there. How can that be? It seems that people can reserve multiple spots and the cancel at the last minute for a small fee. By the time the site become available, it's too late for most to reserve. And why aren't the non-reserved spots shown on the map? Would it be too hard to show them on the reservation map? I finally found a poor quality printable map on another page. No excuse for this poor quality of service.
Also, we were hit with an additional car fee when we got there. Let me get this straight, I tell you how many cars will be on site, and the number of days, yet your archaic website is unable to charge us those fees? You seem to be able to collect most of the fees online, why not all of them? You knew how many cars were going to be there, and the cost, yet I can't pay online?
The sites were nice, but the reservation process is terrible. Of course, since it's a government website, there's absolutely no impetus for change, so I'm really wasting my time pointing out the obvious.
And what's the deal with an "Adventure Pass?" Does one need one or not? Could it be more confusing if one needs a pass or not? How about making the requirements more clear? If I'm camping at Hanna Flats, and I'm using the Jeep trails, do I need a pass? If I stop on the side of a trail to eat lunch, do I need a pass? What if I stop at another campground to use the bathrooms? Do I need a pass? Why can't I purchase a pass online when I make reservations. Seems like if I need a pass, maybe the option should be there when I pay for reservations.
Typical poor government service.
