Although the camp site was decent, the area is not well maintained. The host did not ever tell loud groups to be quiet, especially when they yell across the camp ground to each other at all hours. Keep in mind there are close to 100 camp sites here and these groups were yelling from one end to the other.( like 200 yards) also if you camp near the trail head some people think its appropriate to come off trail through your camp instead of walking the final 100 yards. The worst part of the stay was that the restrooms had fly traps filed with flies, never cleaned, and doors that wouldnt lock. People were also leaving their trash in the restrooms because they didnt want to take it to the only dumpster at the entrance. It was so bad, people were gagging from the smell. We stayed in camp 48 and would get whiffs of the bathrooms in the air. If you go, take your own privacy tent and port-a-potty!

Kevin, one of the hosts was such a great help while we were there. Our car battery died and he was able to jump it, and really helped us out and eased our stress. The trail nearby is great and not very strenuous. I only did a little of it but it is a 11 or 12 mile loop. Great spot. The many first some first serves will make this one of my spontaneous camping spots for sure.

Beautiful sight. Road leading up is not paved (not a big deal) just good to note. Campground is more desolate, not right in the busy part of big bear lake, so better camping experience (in my opinion). The drive into town wasn't a big deal for us or hard to get to. Alot to do up there at big bear lake on the village side. Camp host had great personality, friendly, and helpful. We overall had a wonderful stay. I would come back.

the hike from Hanna Flats down to the Bay was wonderful!

Hanna Flat is a rustic, but beautiful campground. The sites are nice and in the trees. There is a fun mountain bike/hiking trail that takes off right from the campground.

On the way in there is rough road, but isn’t as bad during the day as it is at night. The campsite was nice, but also very exposed. A lot of people don’t have camp manners and walked through our campsite multiple times since it was right next to the trail. Site 48 also has a lot of inclines so if you have a big tent, I would recommend looking at a different site. We woke up multiple times slowly falling to the bottom of our sleeping mats. It was so bad that we decided to sleep in our car for the second night. Overall the campground was nice, I would just pick a different site. Bathrooms are cleaned daily and the hosts are very nice. Site 48 is also very close to two water spigots.

Some campsites were quite small and offered little privacy, however, we were able to find a large and secluded one. Campground was clean and quiet.
