Wonderful time at Hanna flat! went with my other friend and spent two nights there, sites felt pretty spread out and comfotable with lots of space, and lots of little areas to explore around the site! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting an easy to get to and fairly chill campsite, be aware the road there is not paved tho!

I have driven by Hanna Flats for years and never stayed there. We intended on going to Big Pine Flats but this late in the year, it was closed. I also didn't want to drive a full SUV that far on Coxey Truck Trail. The road is in very poor condition, we found that out the next day on a day trip to Holcomb Creek.HF was very empty, only about 3-4 other parties. We stayed in #61 which had too much sun for my liking, but we also couldn't have aniticpated highs in the low 70s in mid-Oct, it was beautiful. 36 at night meant you needed a fire the next morning, We stayed 4 days and will return, albeit in a different space as the neighboring #60 site is just too close for any privacy. I understand from the terrific camp hosts that summers up there are pretty wild, it fills up.

Large loud groups of people in campsites on either side of me, I go to these places for quiet and nature, not parties and music, allowing OHVs in the campground and to drive around in the campground. Road is bad to get there not to mention the very large pinecones falling on vehicle. Was not worth the cost.

We stayed at Hanna Flat for two nights at the very end of their season, the last weekend in October. For that reason the toilets were closed and replaced with portapotties. The campsites were well placed and though full the campground did not seem crowded. Water was available. The fire hazard prevented use of the fire pits. The area is thickly wooded with tall pines and oaks and surrounded by small hills that beg to be explored. The camp host, Penny, could not have been more helpful and sweet. The drive up from Big Bear Lake includes 3 miles of washboard dirt road, which made slow going pulling our 16 foot Airstream. There is one trail hike of 3-1/2 miles, the Gray's Peak Trail. Its trailhead is at the Camp Host site. We got no AT&T cell signal during our stay. Considering the bumpy ride to the lake, there is not much to do at Hanna Flat but relax, enjoy clear air and play bocce ball and corn hole.

I just love this place. I wish the regular bathrooms were open, but it is a minor inconvenience
