Unfortunately, there were too many yellow jackets to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner, as they were active throughout the morning, afternoon, and early evening for the entire trip. While the campsite itself was nice, a heads-up about the issue would have made a big difference. The ranger mentioned the problem to us at check-in, but it didn't improve our experience. On a positive note, we always appreciate how clean the showers, restrooms, and campsites are. We're grateful for how well the camp is maintained. Thanks!Beware of raccoons!

I like the privacy of this site. I dont like the little slope there is to get to your car or to go to the restroom. Lots of up and down when packing and unpacking. The site is spacey with about 2 flat areas for a tent. We have a big 10 people tent and our friends had a smaller one. We found 2 flat spots for them. The bathroom is conveniently across from us. I booked sites 10 & 11 because on the map they showed to be next to each other. However, they are not and instead they are across from each other and site 11 is across the street and directly in front of the restroom with much less privacy. I should have booked site 9, which is next to this site, yet not so close and we still had our privacy which was great. Our friends from site 11 slept in that site, but hung out at ours because of the more secluded and private space. The picnic bench is big, we took 2 more tables and still had plenty of space. We did experience the yellow tail bees, but only when meat was out. Any other food they dont come out, but the minute you have meat, they are all over you. I dont know if they bite, but we didnt get bitten. Do prepare for mosquitoes so take candles or repellant. The showers are not in the restrooms in front of this site, they are a bit further down and you can easily walk or take your car. Theres parking space if you want to drive there. The showers are free with cold and hot water. The staff is super friendly and come around selling wood so it was very helpful. Theres a market Jensen nearby, but Strater Bros in Lake arrowhead is much cheaper and still very close. We went to Lake Gregory on Saturday and Im glad I read to book tickets ahead of time because there was a line to go in and it was sold out so many people got turned away. We parked at the south shore parking lot of the lake, it had plenty of parking. We went for ice cream at the market across of the lake. Bought ourselves some chocolate truffles too.

Site was great, very secluded from other campsites and had good shade. Back-in parking had a bit of a grade, so keep that in mind. Hot showers were very nice and made trip more enjoyable. Karen was amazing. Very knowledgable and helpful, showed us where things were located and gave us recommendations on hiking trails.

This campground was great! The rangers were very friendly and helpful. The campground is clean and the quiet hours are really quiet. Everyone is so respectful here. The trails are nice and not too bad. My kids had a blast. It was helpful being able to purchase firewood at the campground because the local Stater Bros was sold out. We loved our spot it was nice and shady and spacious. We loved it here so much we booked our next trip here as soon as it was available!

Dogwood is a beautiful Southern California campground with good spacing between most campsites. We stayed at site #10 with a 32' 5th wheel site is nice and longer than indicated but only single wide table and fire ring are down a small slope from the parking pad. Description indicates a "severe" grade on driveway you will likely need extra blocks for leveling. For us, that meant raising passenger side ~6" and lowering front of 5th wheel ~10". We used two 2"x8" planks under passenger wheels and then leveled at usual that was enough for us, no problems. Easy to back into space.Picnic table and fire pit are surrounded by tall pines and cedars and heavy bushes and is very secluded from other campsites. Entire site is shaded most of the day, however, picnic table will get a few hours of sun mid-day. Site is good for shade on trailer/parking spot so obviously not good for roof-mounted solar panels.Camp hosts in summer of 2023 were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful and kept the sites and bathrooms looking great! Great experience!

Love the campground only 10 minutes away from lake arrowhead. Host was very friendly. The campground was very beautiful I recommend staying in site 10 it’s more isolated other campers and not so far from restrooms
