We usually stay at Heartbar but its closed this year. So we stayed at Barton Flats for the first time. Wish we stayed here sooner. Running water, flushing toilets and showers! Day and Night than vault toilets and no sink! Nice as Heartbar but better amenities. Host was nice and didnt bother us like most do or push buying fire wood. We will come back. Only grip is you can see and hear the main road and car lights. Other than that one of the best camp grounds we ever stayed at.

This site is a great place for two families to camp together. We had 3 tents set up, but there was plenty of space and we all got together for a BBQ at night. There was plenty of shade from the trees, so I was able to sit in the shade during the day and relax. I recommend this place.

Great to see our favorite camp hosts again. Spot was spotless as usual and showers up and running. Love hosts who enforce rules. Been camping at Barton Flats for 30 years, good as ever, now with my grandkids. Only bad was Jinks Lake, lake less than half full, no real fishing, but Big Bear close by. Back again in July!!

We enjoyed very much the loop trail from Barton Flats to nearby San Gorgonio campground this time.
Last time we enjoyed hiking to Jenk's lake trail.

Campsite was nice and maintained. Working food locker and the nicest looking water spout I've ever seen (good for filling containers). Facilities very clean. Good location for trails within walking distance or drive up to Big Bear

The campground was clean and the area is beautiful. The restroom nearest to my site was locked in the late afternoon. It had been open earlier that morning and was in perfect order. The path to the other restroom was difficult to find at night even with a flashlight because it's a dirt path. Fortunately there was no one camping in the area near the restroom or I might have stumbled upon their campsite by accident. The showers were closed due to COVID. The firepits were closed off due to the recent fire activity in the area. I understand the reasons why these closures are necessary but to charge $40 per night as if these conveniences and experiences were open and available to you seems unjustified in my opinion. There's no fire pits or showers to clean so I don't understand the high price. I think I will stick to Serrano campground in Big Bear. It's a longer drive from my home but there is so much more to see and do and it costs the same as Barton Flats.

Barton Flats is such a beautiful place. The campsites are spacious and well kept. Bathrooms were clean and keepers were very nice. Will definitely be back!!
