Always a nice place to get away locally.. The campsites are nicely spread out... I don't ever feel cramped. The camp hosts are always very nice and helpful... You really do feel like you're in the mountains even though the hwy is near by... you don't hear the noise... I like that the camp hosts patrol often and maintain quite time so that it doesn't get rowdy or out of hand... They are also very friendly. Jenks lake is nearly and hiking trails... although the campground doesn't have a camp store, there is a store 7 miles away in case you forget anything and the camp hosts do have fire wood you can purchase....

Not having a fire was a bummer but we understand why with current conditions. However, would like to know why an e-cigarette is a hazard. We had a great time as always but concerned the camp will start imposing restrictions that are so severe that it takes the fun out of camping.

This was our second time camping at Barton Flats this year. We loved it. The sites are a good size and everything is well maintained. The bathrooms are so clean! The 10pm quiet is well enforced. (The camp hosts do a very thorough job - wonderful!)There is good cell reception. There is a store 10 minutes away and the town of Big Bear is an easy 30 minute drive.

Pleasantly surprised! Nice big spaced out camp sites. We picked a double site (#10) for our trailer, it was bigger than what we needed but didnt mind it one bit. Bathrooms were very clean. Camp hosts were super nice and helpful. I especially like that they enforce the quite time and do not allow loud music during the day... so you can actually enjoy nature. Easy access to trails and only about 4 miles to local store if you forgot something

Loved our first time at Barton Flats! Camp hosts were super friendly, especially Elise. We stayed in double site #10 which was very spacious, and had just enough daytime shading from the trees and just enough open sky above to see plenty of shooting stars. While campfires were not allowed due to the recent wildfires, we spent time huddled around the campfire with our lanterns and enjoyed looking at the stars, playing games and laughing into the night. Our group was celebrating a birthday and stayed up until about 1:00 am both nights without disturbing neighbors or being asked to quiet down by the camp hosts. The bathrooms were very clean, and showers were closed due to COVID-19. The potable water was clean and delicious. We also enjoyed a very pleasant and mild hike to Jenks Lake which has picnic tables and views around it. I would be glad to return to Barton Flats again!

Great campground, we camped in a double spot, had a couple of flat spots for our tents. Hiked a bit due to good weather. Our spot was very quiet at night since we were on the outer edge of sites.

My family loves this campground. Close to Jenks lake. Nice hiking trails. Friendly camp hosts. Highly recommend.
