One of the nicest and quietest campgrounds we've enjoyed, car way up at the small twisty campground road, expansive and very private campsite leading down to the fast running creek. Beautifully and generously designed, it is a mysterious place, huge, winding, with both walking and driving bridges over water, many fallen trees, and some campsites seemingly left to go back to nature next to quite usable sites. We could walk to swimming holes, or the nearby "resort" (unimpressive food store options), or the wonderful Rogue Gorge. Starry nights were perfect. The outhouses (pre labor day) were not particularly dirty but were evidently not cleaned often enough. The incredible stench drifted over to camp occasionally, which was a real shame. The camp host was conscientious about greeting and supervising and answering questions. We drove out to Crater Lake for a day, but the distance between the two places does shorten walk possibilities at Crater Lake. If you are merely doing the circle the lake drive, there is plenty of time to get there and back for a day outing.

When I arrived to my site I thought to myself. “Wow how nice and private” until a family kept walking right through my site! Literally walked around my tent!
I asked the host about gas stations nearby. He wasn’t much help. BTW Crater Lake has a gas station.
I wouldn’t stay again based on no privacy!

Beautiful place, especially walking along a trail along the creek. However, we were towing a 17 ft. trailer/ camper and unable to get it into site 16, our reserved site, partly due to tow vehicle combination (add another 15 ft.), driver skill, and the narrow road (stumps, trees). Fortunately, there was a terrific and available camp host who sent us to a wider, longer site (48), and we managed easily to camp. As we walked around, we saw other sites, more accessible to our needs. For next time.

I am so bummed, I had to cancel my trip because of smoke, and as my 3 day stay was on two different reservations it cost me $36.00 to cancel. I thinks you should waive the $10 charge when conditions are not habitable at the campground. I think the 200K acres fire will keep smoke up there for awhile.
I was so looking foward to fishing and enjoying the river. :(
