This campground was great, but the camp host of June 2023 was NOT! We had reserved and prepaid for 2 nights through recreation.gov. We returned from Crater Lake NP about 5pm the second night and found another couple in our site. The couple told us that the camp host had said the site was empty. When we talked with the camp host, she said that nothing was left in the site, so she assumed we had left early. My husband pointed out that we were in a self-contained camper van so there was nothing we could easily leave, but we had left a towel to dry on the picnic table. She claimed nothing was left in the site and instead of apologizing she stated, Im the camp host and I can do what I want!. I asked what we were supposed to do now. She said, I cant help you. (We drove about an hour and found a Snow Park to park the van for the night.)

This spacious campground is located on a beautiful bend of the upper Rogue River, with a large island to explore. The campground is just upstream of the Rogue River Gorge. There is an ice cream shop, a pie shop, and general store nearby.
