It is a beautiful setting. The campsites are each uniquely different. Some had large campers parked right along the road. Our spot was a back-in site. Our one complaint was the 30 amp breaker was broken. We reported this on our first two days. It was never repaired during our week long visit, but we were refunded 2 nights.

We paid for an electric space. The 30 amp breaker was broke which is what we needed. We reported this to two park employees immediately. We were told they would contact maintenance but it could take anywhere from a few days to weeks to fix. No one ever came to fix it.

What a beautiful place to camp. We had all four seasons of weather in the 3 days were up there. But after all it is Colorado springtime. The campground is in great shape and the elk and deer were in the meadow at Moraine Park.

The most beautiful campground located in the heart of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Walk to trails (Cub Lake and Fern Lake) as well as to the Moraine Valley to fish surrounded my majestic and breathtaking mountains. Wildlife abound; elk, deer and fox were seen daily. The campground staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Every site is beautiful. Very clean facilities. Since D loop is closed wish they would designate another area to be generator free. They’re very bothersome and inconsiderate to those in tents just trying to get out in nature.

You cannot get a better place to stay than Morraine Campground during the rutting season. You must really pay attention to the campsites as many are sideways on the road and if you have small children, your trailer door will face outwards towards it. Our only issue was using our LEGALLY allowed propane gas campfire pit during a stage 2 wood campfire burn ban. Many other campers did not understand this and were quite hostile towards us and also to our camping neighbor as well. The rangers should have made this more clear to ALL campers upon arrival. They also should have marked our site as being approved, therefore being more proactive and quicker in explaining to others that were creating a complaint. People become angry too quick without understanding the rules!

Busy campground, we were fortunate to find a spot during elk mating. Has RV dump station, which is becoming harder to find. We walked down the hill to view herds of elk in the wide meadow (along with herds of other gawkers), and even found some lesser 10 point bulls hiding out in the trees along the way. Only downside is how overrun the park has become, with standing room only busses and hoards of hikers, some racing up the trails as if they were still on treadmills. Campground is well maintained and supervised, making it an overall pleasant experience.
