We always love camping in RMNP and are really happy to snag a reservation at any site we can, but this may be the actual worst camping site in our history of camping. And it could easily be one of the best with a little attention. The view and location are great! Open to the meadow and close to the shuttle. However, the picnic table was absolute trash - one entire bench was unusable as half of it was splintered off. The majority of the sites have super nice, sturdy picnic tables and this one is wood and metal and in terrible shape. In addition, the fire pit area is barely usable. There are bushes inches away along the entire back side - so close that it felt irresponsible to even consider a fire. The rest of the designated fire area is super small and raised so you can fit 2, maybe 3 chairs within inches of the metal.Clear the bushes (if only even for safety purposes) and get a functioning picnic table and it would make a world of difference.

Site 209 - Goods and bads. The tent pad, firepit and table are over the hill and slightly away from other campers which is nice, and overlook the meadow slightly (trees break up the view). The site for the camper was easy to level, BUT, its right on the road, so your door may open up right on the road. The traffic wasn't too bad though since its one way and just for the C loop. Overall, not bad for a couple nights. Some staff was a little more gruff, but most were super friendly, site was very clean, campground well maintained.

All was great. Good spot, but two restrooms closest to us were closed. Not a deal breaker, but our crew just had to hike a little further when they had to go to the restroom. Harder on the girls than the guys.

Park staff was friendly and facilities were clean. The campsites are close together but the fire pits are staggered so theres separation between picnic tables and fire pits. Beautiful views.

Beautiful updates to the campground, site 15 is fairly exposed, not very private but nice to be in the park.

We absolutely loved our walk-up site at Moraine Campground. Our site was large and flat with a gorgeous view of the mountains. The proximity to Bear Lake was the biggest perk of staying here because of the easy access to the hikes we wanted to do.

It was incredible to see the Aspens changing colors, and the elk rut Right in their own backyard

The campground is very nice and situated great for all the stuff on the east side of the park. The bathroom was clean and heated and just a short walk from our site, though the lights from the building were distracting at night while around the campfire. The setting was pretty and we heard lots of elk! Just be aware the map is not correct. A117 is not right next to the parking spot. It's a short walk in, maybe 75 ft, which might matter to some people.

Very good campground considering the large #of people. Lots of elk down in the meadow and bugling throughout the campground at times. Bring silicone earplugs if camping late September.

It was a nice site.

We had a great time at Rocky Mountain National Park. The elk rut was in full swing and the Aspen trees were bright yellow. One issue I did have was even though the campgrounds said full, there were many open camping spots. If people can't go they should cancel and open up the spot for others to enjoy the park. Other than that, I highly recommend.

The site was beautiful. You could see the mountains from some angles. Deer came to visit our site. Dog friendly but only on campground.

The extensive infrastructure renovations of the past few years in the Moraine Park campground are mostly unseen except for the electrical pedestals in the RV sites in loops B and C. September is always a great time to visit Rocky and the elk and fall colors were in full swing. We hadn't been in the Discovery Center at Moraine Park in decades and that was a pleasant surprise.

This was our first time to stay in the newly renovated campground. Kudos to the Park Service for all the improvements. All of the infrastructure is in excellent condition.

We had a site with views, electricity and close to where all the elk action was, it was great.

This was our first time staying at the campground and it was a wonderful experience. Restrooms conveniently located, clean, and HEATED. The check-in staff was very informative and friendly.

Great location for elk watching. Our site was level, clean, and quiet. Its our favorite campground in the park.

The only down side was closed bathroom, we chose right across from bathroom for a purpose only to find it closed. The park itself was beautiful.
@DanielH5239181 · Camped on Sep 22, 2025 at Campsite #91
Had to walk ~1/4 mile for the restroom. Was told that the contractors who installed the plumbing were the reason. No trash receptacles in the loop (only near the entrance). It was otherwise fine but it seems the campground as a whole was not ready to re-open. Location within the park was convenient.

The positivebeing inside Rocky Mountain NP was a beautiful experience! We could view the elk from our campsite and we needed no timed entries so we could move around the park at our own discretion. Second, having electricity was wonderful! Third, the vault toilets were well kept. The negativethe sites are still pretty much designed for tent camping. It didnt appear that much work (if any) had been done during the shut down for renovation on the actual sites. The picnic tables were still very old. We had standing water in the drive outside our Rv during/after rain. Many sites are not large enough for an rv and those that are large enough are likely to have tent sites very close to the rv. Rvers should be very careful to select a site that can actually accommodate their rv. Ours is 29 and only a few sites would accommodate us. There is only one dump station. Outcome.Would we do it again? Absolutely because being inside the park was an unforgettable experience!!!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
