THIS IS WHAT I WROTE IN THE PUBLIC VIEW SECTION THAT SUMS IT UP WELL ENOUGH! PLEASE, PLEASE FIGURE OUT A BETER WAY TO TRANSITION FORM " RESERVATION ONLY TO FIRST COME FIRST SERVE" BASIS. The park is beyond beautiful, just go enjoy it all! There are a lot of beautiful campsites in this campground with amazing views. JUST BE AWARE THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO BE AT THE CAMPGROUND ON THE DAY IT TRANSITIONS FROM "RESERVATIONS ONLY" TO "FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS." We were already camping with a reservation in Loop C and did not know until we arrived that it would be one of the loops to close down and we would have no guarantee that we would be able to get a spot in the only Loop (B) that would remain open on the day it changed! On that morning of the change it was just a mess!!! We wasted, with a WHOLE LOT OF OTHER FOLKS that were in the same situation, our entire morning making sure we were able to procure an envelope (that the Rangers wouldn't hand out until noon) and a site! From first daylight to 12:30ish we spent running around trying to make sure we got a site in Loop B, I had to sit like a hawk to swoop in as soon as a site in Loop B was open with my husband standing by with our truck and trailer to move quickly into the spot because there were cars lined up at the entrance of the campground waiting also to get an envelope at noon and start taking the available spots too! THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER SYSTEM THIS THIS!!!! IT WAS SUCH BAD EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND FOR ALL US CAMPERS THAT WERE ALREADY IN THE CAMPGROUND CAMPING AND WANTED TO STAY LONGER AND HAD TO WASTE AN ENTIRE MORNING NAVIGATING THROUGH THIS CHAOS!!

Our campsite was spacious, clean, quiet, and with a wonderful view of Longs Peak. We could not ask for more. Campground hosts were very accessible if needed. We love RMNP!

What a gorgeous site to camp at in early September! The Elk were rutting and you could hear the Elk bugling all night long in the meadow below. It was magical! Keep in mind, some of the sites have little or no tree coverage, so be sure you pack extra guy lines and stakes for windy weather that can travel across the meadow. Bathrooms were clean- no paper towels. Only a couple of solar shower areas for bathing if you bring your own set-up. Overall, LOVED my stay here! SO nice to already be in the park for day hike adventuring!

My family and I went on a week long road trip north through Colorado, to Wyoming and then down to Utah. We camped the whole trip and this was the best place along the way. It was a great sight, clean, people we respectful and quite. Will absolutely be going back.
