Our experience at the park was fantastic with only a few hiccups. The ranger at the entrance pointed in the wrong direction to our campsite and theres construction on the mountain that made it impossible to turn around. We had to leave the park from the other side and re-enter, it took almost an hour and a half because of the lines to enter the park. Maybe a more significant sign declaring the one road into the campsite is necessary during construction times. However the campsite was near a bunch of elk roaming the plains during sunset and it was a great time. The old man selling firewood, candy and soda was an awesome addition. Our campsite, 220, did not have a bear box and by the time we went to bed we didnt feel comfortable walking to another groups campsite in the dark to use theirs since they were only a few feet from their tents. There was definitely a little panic moment that we might die, but thankfully we made it out okay. Beautiful area and nice rangers though. Not everything can go perfectly on a camping trip!

I love Moraine Park Campground in Rocky Mt Nat Park. B loop is my favorite location for my small pop up camper. I usually find a shady spot with friendly neighboring campers. The sites are pretty level and the restrooms are always clean. My focus is fly fishing and fishing is great in the smaller streams and alpine lakes in the park. It's also a good spot to camp and venture out to the larger Big Thompson river.

This is very nice campground and they have signs every where telling you to store your food in the bear boxes. However, they don't have bear boxes on all sites. We had to walk up an incline from our site and go down across the road through our neighbor's site to use the nearest bear box. This was very inconvenient since we wanted to get early starts each day and did not want to disturb our neighbors.Otherwise we enjoyed the 3 nights we spent here. This campground is in an excellent location for going to the different parts of the park. Especially enjoyed our horseback ride out of the Moraine Park Stables and the great opportunity to see the elk herd.Next time we will be more careful in selecting a site that has a bear box.

We have camped at Moraine Park several times over the past few years. Each time was a very pleasant experience. We see deer come through the area most evenings . Elk are usually in the park by the river. It is quiet and we appreciate the Rangers patrolling the area so frequently. The Ranger programs are always interesting. The astronomy programs are very educational and fascinating. We plan on camping again this summer.
