The campground at Moraine Park was quiet and clean. We attended the ranger program in the amphitheater and enjoyed that as well.

Campground is very nice and clean. Only negative was the grumpy firewood lady. Apparently giving change for a $20 was going to ruin her day. She actually told me to go to town to change it out for smaller bills. So I bought firewood in town.

My tent space was clean and well maintained. It was easy to find and the check in process went very smoothly. I hike near my camp ground the day I arrrived so the location was great.

This campground is on the whole the best in Rocky Mountain National Park if you ask me. It has the most amount of shady sites, a good amount of restrooms, and a few solar shower stalls. There is a place to purchase fire wood (and ice cream!) right by the entrance, and it is very centrally located to the rest of the eastern side of the park. It's also right next to a large meadow that was full of elk one evening. I highly recommend this campground.

Make sure you show up for your reservation. If you don't they will cancel the entire reservation. We had a 7 day reservation and decided to spend the first 2 days at the lodge at Grand Lake. When we checked in we were told since we didn't show the entire reservation was cancelled which required us to scramble to make other arrangements. We had traveled from Maryland and it was Elk Rutting season. There were no vacancies at any of the hotels in town. They did provide a courtesy call, but we had no cell service. Lesson learned - check-in or change your reservations.

We camped two nights, in two different spots, in Moraine Park. The C-loop spot was especially sweet. Love this park and love this campground. The rangers were great too, friendly and full of insights.

We brought all of our own water, because we didn't realize there was drinking water available. Also, it was REALLY far from our campsite (A9) to the bathroom in the middle of the night. If you are good at weeing in nature, maybe this is not an issue for you. Otherwise, they were very thorough with the explanation of how to avoid your car getting attacked by bears, and the bear box they give you is big enough for everything.

This campground is fantastic: bear boxes at every site, convenient and clean restrooms, good spacing between sites, etc. There are a host of trails that can be accessed right off the campground, and others that can be accessed via a shuttle that runs directly to the campground's entrance.Notes: be sure to bring cash (small bills) if you want to buy firewood. If you want to shower, you'll also need to bring a solar shower set-up, as there were no running-water showers on site. Cell phone service for me (AT&T) was very limited. Effectively no service in the campground itself, but I could get some signal out on trails.

It's right by where the elk like to hang out. Pro: abundance of elk pictures. Con: abundance of vehicles and visitors to wade through when going to and from the campground.

Our family of eight enjoyed our short stay at the campground. While full, fellow campers abided by the rules. We drove in from the west and like the stair climb at one of the peaks. We got to our campsite late and did the east the following day. The park is beautiful. You need more than two days to do it justice.

Beautiful area to camp. Nice large site with built up sand tent mound. Bathrooms were adequate. Our only complaint was our assigned parking space was shared and the other site kept using it for their second car instead of the second car parking area.
