Great experience. Definitely be bear aware - we appreciated the large lock boxes provided for food storage. Some campsites are a little close to each other.

This is a beautiful campground and located in a great area of the park. The only downside was no showers, but that's pretty standard for national park campgrounds.

Bathrooms were well kept and clean throughout our 4 day stay. Rangers were knowledgeable and cordial with all visitors (especially with impatient ones).

Beautiful campground with well laid-out sites. We stayed in the A loop and woke up to Elk in our campsite one morning. The only thing that would make this campground better is hot showers and greater capacity in restrooms.

Once we got in to the campground it was nice, but getting through the park gate and then to the campground was a nightmare! We've been frequenting RMNP for 6-7 years now multiple times a year in all seasons. Granted this was a holiday weekend, but it took more than an hour to pass through the Beaver Meadows gate and then through another checkpoint to the Bear Lake road. Even at 6:30 in the morning! I thought the timed entry permit system was supposed to reduce the lines and spread the crowds out over the day. But this was BY FAR the worst we've ever seen it. It seems the parks staff could do a lot to expedite the process. Either you have a permit or you don't....period. Wave through the folks that have permits and turn around those who do not. It seems like it was easier and quicker to get into the park before they implemented this timed entry system. There has got to be a better way to manage this new system. We won't be going to RMNP any more this summer unless we plan to arrive at 4:00am or something like that.
