The extensive infrastructure renovations of the past few years in the Moraine Park campground are mostly unseen except for the electrical pedestals in the RV sites in loops B and C. September is always a great time to visit Rocky and the elk and fall colors were in full swing. We hadn't been in the Discovery Center at Moraine Park in decades and that was a pleasant surprise.

We parked out camper here for 5 nights in August 2021. The campground was clean and quiet. Other campers were friendly, though one did runa generator that was pretty loud. It was a great location, easy to hike to trails (Cub Lake and Fern Lake) and had a convenient shuttle stop, though we used our own vehicle. Wildlife were present, we were visited by elk and deer in the campsite but did not see any predators (thankfully!). Water was easy to get, bathrooms were clean and the outdoor shower was a nice touch - remember to bring your own solar shower bag! There is firewood and ice for sale every day but wednesday from 5:30-8:30pm and the gentelman manning the stand was very pleasant. The campsite host was very friendly and gave us some good tips about how to get around the park. All in all would highly recommend Moraine Park and RMNP - already planning our next trip!

How could spending a night in this park be anything other than exceptional??? We had mule deer wander right through our campsite and the natural feel of the campground just added to the experience. Other campers were extremely cognizant of light and noise pollution which made our stay even more enjoyable. The hike to Emerald Lake is amazing. Don't miss out on that!

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. The only problem is getting reservations ahead of when you want to be there. I don't like the system.

My biggest complaint I have about the park is the staff. I go camping all the time, I have never had a problem or even had staff approach our sites. That was not the case here. We got hounded multiple times a day about ridiculous stuff, there is no way they could have just been bored because The camp was full. For instance they have the parking area marked out with a gravel patch outlined with boulders, they came by twice to tell us we were parked on the grass.....a little tiny clump that had grown in the driveway... after the 3rd day I had enough and mouthed off at them...nothing terrible just that they were just harassing us and they were ridiculous....they sent the police over to set things straight and after they heard my story, they even agreed and said that they would tell the staff to leave us alone. Most of the good trails require a short drive, parking fills up so 6am-7am is when you want to arrive at those trailhead parking lots, otherwise you might have to go all the way into Estes Park town to get a shuttle to come all the back to where you started .... not convenient at all. Estes Park is great but Ill pick another place to camp next time
