We had a fantastic time at the campground. The grounds were clean and well looked after, and so were the bathrooms. The one caution I would give is that the motion-sensor light outside the bathroom building is bright, and if you're a light sleeper, it might disturb you when people use the facilities after dark.

CAMP We wanted a quiet experience so booked in Unit D that's only for tents in the Morraine Park Campground. If you have any snaffu's like we did (there was a huge RV next door), talk with the campground host. With good reason, staff at the gate house may assign a better site. We were placed in site A82, the "emergency site". This was nice, private, overlooking a large meadow with trees. A few days later we came back and stayed in Unit D at a reasonably nice site. The campgground was exceptionally quiet. With clear sky, the stars were profuse, the Milky Way visible : )THINGS TO DORocky Mountain NP is beautiful with outstanding hiking. The bus/tram system work well. Lots of elk in fall!- Favorite HIKE Nymph/Dream/Emerald Lakes. After the first long hill the trail becomes interesting; views simply gorgeous!! - 2ND favorite HIKE Gem Lake/Lumpy Ridge. Really interesting, great views, serene lake- Alberta Falls is awesome - best view from small trail in the woods at the bottom. - Ute Trail we thought best in summer w profuse wild flowers.- Ouzel Falls was fairly nice. Note that the main parking lot fills early. Parking at the lower lot adds a hike of at least a mile. They need a shuttle! At the bridge walk ACROSS to get to the trail head.- Sprangle Lake is a stroll- near sunset five elk that slowly crossed the lake right in front of us - so cool! Moose are seen morn/eve.RESTAURANTS Both of these have excellent food. Bird and Jim's (need reservation) - truly outstanding!Wapiti Pub for neat outdoor patio, good food, including the elk burger, and unique beer

Great campsite, only minus was the fact that closest toilet building was undergoing renovations

It is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL campground. We loved our stay there. Our only complaint was that the bathroom closest to us was out of order for the summer, which seems like a long time. It was a long walk or a short drive to the next nearest, which was fine except in the middle of the night. Otherwise, we loved it, and will be back.
