For choosing a site without specific information about the size of the tent pad, this site was barely adequate. The recreation.gov map was totally inadequate. The park itself is amazing. The shuttle took us to the trailheads without a problem. The timed entry system kept the crowds at a reasonable level. We enjoyed the elk bugling. The remodel of Moraine with more bear boxes was appreciated.

Campground was hard to obtain reservations due to limited space proportional to demand! However, the grounds were very nice with good water provisions and a good dump station for RVs. Some of the sites were not very level and small but nice. Nice to be inside the park with access to the trails and park experiences.

A quick escape from the city. Moraine Park is highly sought after and reservations get booked up fast! However if you are able to take off mid-week that opens up possibilities. Sites are well maintained. However due to the trial period after renovations, the camp showers were locked and unavailable. Evening brought sunset colors and deer roaming through the campground. The south sites have an expansive view of the Moraine valley, and the mountains including Longs Peak. B-Loop is more close together, but the rest of the loops have good separation between sites. Driveways and pads are level, and some have good shade. Your reservation gets you into Bear Lake corridor, so take advantage of early morning parking and hike to Nymph Lake, Dream Lake etc.

The campsite was wonderful but make sure to ask what the closest open bathroom is (many are closed due to COVID). We ended up walking wayyyyy far away from our campsite to go to the restroom when there was one just up the road in the opposite direction.

Great location for exploring Rocky Mountain NP. Quiet and dark at night. No light pollution from city lights. Great in the fall for viewing Elk bugling. Easy access in the morning to catch the sunrise with a hike to Dream Lake. Definitely will be back.
