Careful bringing a trailer to this site - you have to come in from the opposite direction to get a trailer in there.

RMNP was an awesome experience. Beautiful, colorful, perfect weather, with many sightings of animals around the park. Booking a campsite was a bit of a hassle. Recreation.gov wouldn't allow booking on Oct 12th so my wife and I had to change campsites for one day to an open site. Moraine Park changed to winter season while we were there so the sites went to "first come, first served" and we moved again to a spectacular site for the remainder of our trip. Special thanks to Rangers Caitlyn, Eric, and Jeff for answering all our questions and working with us to get our booking/sites squared away. Friendly and helpful staff with a wealth of knowledge on the park and excellent recommendations.

This park is awesome! Love the views and shuttle service is honestly really nice for when youre camping out of your truck bed. The area around fern lake is burnt out, but honestly with the fall colors and stuff starting to grow back its amazing. Just be ready for 45 minute wait in a line of cars to get into the park (which isnt something Ive ever ran into at the Smokies or Shenandoah). The campgrounds were really nice too, everything was spaced out really well and the bathrooms were clean. I just wish they had more of a camp store so you wouldnt have to go back into town and risk getting stuck in line again to get back into the park.

So helpful to have a shuttle service to and from the trail heads. We were able to park our car and camper and just walk to the shuttle pick up without having to drive once in the campsite.

Moraine park campground is one of my favorite places to stay in Estes park, for views and wildlife.

Parking space for our trailer and vehicle was very cramped. Very little privacy since the sites are so tightly packed together. Saw lots of deer and a few elk wander through the site which was nice. It was late September so the elk were in their rut.
