We always love camping in RMNP and are really happy to snag a reservation at any site we can, but this may be the actual worst camping site in our history of camping. And it could easily be one of the best with a little attention. The view and location are great! Open to the meadow and close to the shuttle. However, the picnic table was absolute trash - one entire bench was unusable as half of it was splintered off. The majority of the sites have super nice, sturdy picnic tables and this one is wood and metal and in terrible shape. In addition, the fire pit area is barely usable. There are bushes inches away along the entire back side - so close that it felt irresponsible to even consider a fire. The rest of the designated fire area is super small and raised so you can fit 2, maybe 3 chairs within inches of the metal.Clear the bushes (if only even for safety purposes) and get a functioning picnic table and it would make a world of difference.

We were very disappointed in RMNP. After being closed for 3 years we had some reasonable expectations. What we found was a campsite with a picnic table so rotted that you could not sit at it. A fire pit so overgrown I was worried about burning down the park. The water spigot nearby broke so you had quite a walk for water. The dump was really a dump. No upgrade at all. Still one poorly designed dump. No cover for the sewer connection. Black tank and fresh water supply valves that are spring loaded so you have to hold the valve open or no water. You have to be Gumby. We have camped here several years in a row before the construction and expected better. Cmon people. Do better.

Beautiful clean, quiet campground with nice views. My only criticism is the incredibly stinky outhouse . I had to plug my nose when using it.
