We enjoyed our stay. I appreciate having the bear boxes there for food storage to protect the bears.

The camp rangers were very friendly and answered all of our questions. We only had one night booked but there was a cancellation the next night and the rangers made it so easy for us to grab the canceled spot. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We cant wait to come back.

We had an amazing time, great weather, and loved all the amenities. We had some issues with parking due to the people at the site next to us. While we were setting up our tent and unloading our car, we had our car parked in the adjacent lot when the adjacent lot people came back from a hike. We immediately moved our car to our parking spot but for some very bizarre reason, these people were super upset they had to wait for us to pull out and move our car. They parked for a few moments, then pulled out and came back with a park ranger. The park ranger was SUPER NICE and helpful, but because the other people we were so upset we decided to move our car to the overflow lot. When we walked back to our campsite .... the adjacent lot couple took down their tent and left the park and never returned. It was ... the most bizarre experience I have ever encountered in Colorado. I wish the park ranger kind of helped diffuse the situation by trying to explain to the couple that we were only in their parking spot for a few moments to unload ... instead of asking us to park in the overflow lot to diffuse the situation.

I had an excellent time staying at the Park! Elk were right outside my campsite! If you can do without a full shower this is a great park! Had a beautiful view of Longs Peak. I had site A064. Not much shade but I didn't spend much time at my site during the day. You can walk to Cub Lake(1/2 mile) and get on some trails. Short drive to Estes Park for supplies.

Despite the fact that I was at RMNP over the 4th of July, the most crowded time of the whole year, I still had a wonderful experience. I spent 5 nights in Moraine Park Campground, in two different sites. Both were lovely, I had interesting and quiet neighbors, and easy access to trails and bus stops. I went to three evening programs and all were outstanding. My only complaint would be that the closest restroom facility to my 4-night campsite was closed for maintenance the whole time I was there. My favorite day was spent on the Ute Trail, all of it above timberline. My favorite activity was most of a day spent taking pictures of pikas. Rocky is far and away my favorite National Park.
