Had a lovely stay at this wonderful location. Absolute silence and seclusion. Didn't see another human the whole time we were there. The cabin is in good shape; clean and everything worked well except the carbon monoxide detector, which is dead, and the oven, which I couldn't manage to light (stove burners worked). The water pump was easy and water looked clean.

I have been visiting Carnero Guard Station annually since 2015. I truly love this cabin. You won't find another location like it in Colorado. The privacy, beauty and absence of people make it very special. We are very lucky the Forest Service allows it to be rented to the public. This is not a full-service cabin or Airbnb. You need to come prepared to pack in/out EVERYTHING and bring your own cleaning supplies. There's no maid service in the national forest! The guests after you are counting on you to do your part and clean up. Treat this place with the care and respect it deserves so the public can continue enjoying it years to come.

This is a great spot for a getaway and has all the items to make for a great stay. The full size refrigerator with freezer and Full size stove and oven were terrific in such a remote cabin. Very well stocked, although I brought all my own. Great place to get away from it all. Do not go if you want cell service, because there is not any close. I stayed 4 nights here and wish I had stayed longer. I would definitely like to come back.

Amazing setting makes you feel like you are completely away from everyone. Almost no light pollution, so the stars are ridiculously bright. Although the structure is not as charming as some of the other FS cabins I've rented, it's very comfortable. The cabin is extremely well stocked with all of the pots, pans, utensils and appliances you would need and the kitchen is quite large so you can prep meals for the whole crew. Bunk beds are double on the bottom, so you really can pack quite a few people in such a small space.

Beautiful area. Quiet. No cell service. Good hiking. Kitchen was clean. Stars were incredible. Beware of lots of cow patties though if you have pets that like to roll.

A very nice tucked away cabin. Pics don't really do it justice. All amenities that a person would need.

Only propane and a hand pump for water was harder to deal with than imagined. Beautiful location.

The cabin was very comfortable. The cabin is situated off the main road, which gives an added privacy. The only caution is the altitude, be familiar with mountain sickness symptoms.
It was a great stay!

Nicely equipped, propane heat and lights worked well (it was about 15 degrees outside but was fine in the cabin.) Had pots, pans, utensils, etc. needed for cooking. Bathroom was clean and well equipped. Comfortable bed as well. Good stay and will do again.

Very remote, which was just what we were looking for. The clunky heater and coyote howls all night made for a bit of a creepy stay but that’s the trade off you get for such an amazing location. beautiful!

I’ve stayed here many times usually in fall have always enjoyed our stay. Wish they would put a rain gutter over the front door and a screen door. Otherwise we have a wonderful time . You have everything but electricity but it’s all propane and a hand well pump what else do you need

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
