We enjoyed our stay here, the campground hosts were very helpful and friendly! We got in quite late (our party was traveling from Erie and Colorado Springs areas) and it was very dark - great for seeing all the stars but it was an adventure finding the restrooms that first night! Definitely check out the map of the campground when you come in, its spread out quite a bit. We had a great time hanging out at camp, and was able to do some sightseeing in the area and up by the Reservoir. Restrooms were very clean! We had practically no cell service (Verizon), but my friend who had Google did have some service.

Beautiful campground down a bump 11 mile dirt road. Camp hosts, Leah and her sister, Tammy, were wonderfully welcoming. Campground and bathrooms clean~we highly recommend this lovely spot.

Great place for day hikes and wildlife. Beautiful location and camp sites are reasonably private.

The campground had access to a couple of very nice hikes and stream fishing opportunities. Camp hosts were good. Bathrooms could use some updating. There were a few campers who ran generators all night which was not appreciated by this camper.

Campground hosts were very friendly, helpful and professional, and they kept the facilities very clean. We hope they return next season! Cell service (AT&T) was not consistent, but was better than we've had in the past. This is a beautiful campground, but the bumpy road leading to it can be a challenge.

Great spot very helpful hosts and the bathroom were always cleaned and stocked we were surprised we had 1-2 bars of AT&T cell service in most of the campground

We have been camping at Thirty Mile for several years. Our grown children are also now enjoying camping here and we often meet them here to experience it together. We were in a double site this time due to availability of campsites at the time of booking. We were a bit disappointed with this trip due to the campers across from us partying until 1:00 AM. Their noise kept us awake. We come here for a peaceful and quiet experience in the mountains and our neighboring campers obviously were not.

We reserved site 23 at 30 Mile and arrived (7/14/24) to find that the campsite next to us was occupied by TWO large units (one 30+ footer and one 22+ footer) both of which were apparently allowed along with two vehicles. Not a problem. Until the boom box started and the many small children screaming started. Campground hosts were non existent. Campground is directly on the Rio Grande river. Access was impaired by the large number of fly fishermen who were all very polite and encourage us to use the river for our dogs. But have you ever seen two retrievers try and dodge multiple fly fisher lines. Not fair to the dogs or fishermen. Multiple Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) punctuated the quiet starting aroung 7am, again campground hosts were apparently oblivous to the noise. But the biggest negative for this campground is the access road. 10 miles of dusty washboard road to get to the campsite. A big shout out to the road crews who work hard to mitigate the "washboard" with little success. We are still cleaning the dust and mud from our trailer's under carriage and external areas. We moved to another campground after 2 days. Highly recommend this campground to fly fishermen and women as well as OHV users. DO NOT RECOMMEND for those who seek quiet.

Excellent clean campground. While they say watch out for the Bears, also watch out for the deer, they will steal your stuff. One that has zero fear of people will go onto your picnic table and your stuff. Keep your campsite clean. The host were excellent and it was very quiet and relaxing.

Terrible road leading to campground. Miles of the worst washboarded road that I have ever driven. I would not visit campground again because of the road. The actual campground was excellent. Hosts were to notch too.

30 Mile Campground.Hosts were great. Tamy and leeya? We've been coming for many years and don't quite understand why you are now putting lime in the toilets? Those toilets were installed back in 1977. We just happened to know that because we were working here when they were installed. Anyway, just a comment. They really have a strong odor.Jim

Wow What a fantastic campground! The camp hosts, Leah and Tammy, were top-notch, and kept the bathrooms spotless and well-stocked. They were also so friendly and helpful. Our campsite, Number 3, was arguably the best of the bunch. The rushing river lulled us to sleep at night, and we woke in the morning to the sounds of the birds in the trees near our tent. We did day hikes on both of the trails near the campground, and didnt see a soul on either trail. It was pure bliss. Note: you are completely off-grid, so plan accordingly. We will be back!

We love this campground and site 26. Been there before. HOWEVER, when we arrived we found out that the potable water source was highly treated with chlorine...which basically makes it unusable. We feel Recreation.gov should have informed us about the situation, cuzz we probably would have changed our plans.

Great campground. Referencing the review saying that camp host is anti dog, the people who allow their dogs off leash are disrespectful to all campers. My wife and I always camp with our dog and he is always on a leash. Numerous times we have had to run dogs out of our camp because the owner believes rules don't apply to them and they have no respect for anyone else camping. Many times walking our dog on a leash, we have had to get between our dog and an unleashed dog to prevent a fight. Dogs off leash can poop anywhere the urge hits them, that has to be cleaned up by others or by the camp host. If you cannot follow the rules then stay out of the campground.

Camp hosts were great, and I got to spend a little time visiting with them. Toilets were spotless - seriously I didn't know vault toilets could be so nice. Will definitely be visiting again next season.

Absolutely outstanding campground. Restrooms were the cleanest Ive ever seen by far. Clearly the camp host takes her job seriously and has pride in her work. I will be back again soon. Pssst dont tell anyone about this place and lets keep it a secret amongst ourselves.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
