Potato Patch campground is great! It's so close to the tri-cities area around Prescott and offers a fast way to beat the heat. The campground is well maintained and has lots of tall pines. The toilets are kept very clean for vault toilets so they're not a bad experience. The campground is very close to an amazing vista of the Verde Valley. Truly a gem of a campground.

Potato Patch was a wonderful surprise. The campsites are well maintained and most, if not all, are quite big. Out volunteer hosts were very welcoming and informative. We'll be back for sure.

This site was really a perfect match it had the right amount of shade and sun. Very close to the bathroom. There were even trails that we did not know about and were fairly easy to hike. The only true neighbors you would have is across the drive to A21. Nice breeze as well in the mountains. Host was extremely friendly.

Close to shopping and dining in Jerome. The camp host was friendly. Bathrooms were clean. Campsites are well spaced out so you have privacy.

Camp hosts are the best! I had an issue with the website and it allowed me to reserve two nights over what looked like a free weekend for a site but it wasn't so we had to move after the first night. But the hosts were so great they helped us find a first come first serve spot we could move to and were very kind about my mistake. I will go back there many times.

The restrooms should be cleaned daily instead of just weekly. The host should be able to do this instead of running around in the cart and blowing pine needles off the driveways.

Campground was very clean, vault toilets were spotless. Hosts were very helpful and drove around the camp every evening to make sure everyone was having a good experience. I've been in many campgrounds in my 73 years and I would rate this one as excellent and one of the best I have stayed at. We will be returning in a month.

Me and my family really enjoy staying at this camp site twice already this year. We loved it, is clean, well taken care of and we liked the fact that has access to water. Is the smallest camp site i ever stayed at and that is one of the reasons why i love it.Looking forward to reserve for next year. The host is great, very helpful and him and his wife take care of the camp site so well.

The campsites are well spaced, clean and the scenery is beautiful! Be sure to walk up the hill to the overflow parking lot and take the hike located at the end of the lot, there is a trail marker. Its an easy hike with beautiful views of the sounding woods where you can see the valleys below.

This campground was the quietest I have ever visited. The camp hosts were super kind and went above and beyond. They were visible throughout the day. The campground was so clean! We will be back!

Beautiful, small campground but with room between sites to feel the cool mountain breezes. Well kept, clean and quiet. Friendly Hosts, Ken and Dory, had answers to all our questions. We were there Sunday night to Wednesday morning. The only negative was the target practice going on across the main road on Tuesday. It lasted quite a long time and seemed very close. (Shooting in the area is prohibited) I do wish Hosts would have called the authorities. Next time...and there will be a next time. We already have our reservations for the end of the month!

Potato patch has beautiful sites with the amenty of clean bathrooms which have been newly upgraded (maybe composting??). We have been there a few times and found sites that have more privacy than your typical state park. We like the idea of being more in nature but can't do it without a full size toilet. Behind us were no campers, just trees and the NF. There is a lake an easy walk away and the Arizona trail is accessible near by with beautiful terrain moving north (we didnt do the southern direction). Ranger station up the road is very friendly with additional local information.

The campground is consistently clean and generally quiet, especially when school is in session. There is occasional road noise from the adjacent state highway, little used at night. Generally busier at the start and end of season, outside of the monsoon, than at the height of summer. Some sites have better privacy and separation than others. Miles and miles of empty forest surround the campground and the skies are pitch dark at night.
