We enjoy the campground every year we visit, October is cold for for us we might have to go before,s o we can enjoy the outdoor more and not just stay inside our tent. September is tatarantula season, so you might want to reconsider. I like this campground because is clean, has water and bathrooms.

Potato Patch campground is ALWAYS clean & it is due to The camp hosts - Ken & Dodie doing such a good job! Our friends camp next to us & we make sure we camp there at least 3 times a year. There is also a very nice trail that our dog loves going on. One of my favorite campgrounds!

Mother/Daughter camping trip. Easy to find and perfect location to visit Jerome, Cottonwood (Old Town) and Prescott. Camp hosts were delightful and informative. Clean bathrooms and clearly designated camp spots. They are somewhat close to each other so not a lot of privacy but good security. I would also say its a little close to the highway if you're looking for more of a desolate camp site, this may not be for you.

Everything was great! Beautiful scenery, clean bathrooms and camp sites. The only downside was the lack of control of children. All hours of the night kids were hooting and hollering, using walkie talkies, coming onto my campsite to sell or buy firewood (over and over). This is nothing the campground can control, but parents be respectful of other guests and keep an eye on your kids.

Serene campground with lots of shade. Nice hosts. Extremely clean restrooms with no bad odor. If we ever find our way in AZ again would gladly stay at Potato Patch.

It was a fabulous week. Comfortable days and cold nights that were made for great sleeping in a tent and sleeping bag. Not many people on the trails which were absolutely peaceful and picturesque. Forest Service campgrounds don't get better than Potato Patch.
