We camped at Potato Patch the weekend of July 25–27, renting three adjacent sites (B3-B5) for a multi-generational family trip that included our daughter, her husband, their four-month-old baby, our four-year-old grandson, my 90-year-old mother-in-law, and friends with five young children.
We’ve visited this campground before and had great experiences, but this time was very disappointing due to the behavior of the camp hosts. They came by repeatedly to remind us of rules — especially about our small dogs (5–7 pounds), who were safely in a pen and never off-leash. We were told there was a complaint about barking, but the dogs were quiet unless someone approached the RV. We spoke with other campers nearby who confirmed our dogs weren’t barking and shared their own frustrations with the hosts’ overly strict and unwelcoming attitude.
One camper told us a host knocked on their door and accused them of being a “problem” simply because there was confusion about their reservation.
We are a quiet, respectful family group — not causing trouble or being disruptive. Unfortunately, the hosts' constant policing made it difficult to enjoy what should have been a relaxing weekend. We love the campground itself, but this experience left us feeling unwelcome, and we’re not sure we’ll return.
We can't wait to go back!
