I was great! Amazing place, well maintained and beautiful views from the Mingus Mountain! We will definitely comeback

Had a great experience with the circumstances we were dealt. We were pulling into the camp when my transmission in my truck decided to go, the camp host came and checked on us and helped tremendously. They allowed us to move to a different spot and were able to stay there all 3 nights and kept checking on us through out the weekend. Will definitely be going back

Clean, spacious camp spots. Running water at numerous restrooms. Pit toilets clean and stocked. Most campers seem to be pass-through setup late afternoon, leave early. Possibly due to lack of family camp amenities (playgrounds, trails, ranger programs). Only negative is the closeness to HWY89A on the backside of Loop A, there can be some traffic noise from loud trucks / racing cars.

The area is nice but there was a camping group nearby blasting their music and talking loudly well past quiet hours.

Quiet campground. Very clean and well-maintained restrooms. Loop A 28 was a great spot.

VERY busy on weekends probably because the price is cheap. The campground is in a great location, lots of sightseeing around it.

You can reserve only a certain amount of spots, rest were first come first serve (FF)

The standard non-electric sites are spread out nice. They are paved, basically level, picnic table, fire pit and stand alone BBQ grill. The hookup sites are the typical crowded-close to each other- mostly pavement campground.
The road is a classic twisty mountain road, 30mph and steep....
NOTE: if you are driving a motorhome or towing-- DO NOT TAKE AZ-89A SOUTH through JEROME. go around to dewey-humbolt and connect with AZ-89aNORTH

Great campground very clean . My wife and I had a wonderful time , the only bad part was some inconsiderate camper decided it was ok to run their generator at 2:00 AM not cool

We went up to Potato Patch for an overnight, and stayed in the tent loop. We had a nice large site, but we were pretty close to neighbors. Bathrooms were clean, it was pretty quiet and peaceful. There is an RV loop but we didn't drive through. We saw antelope in the grassland and deer on top of Mingus Mountain. It's a beautiful drive, and we would camp here again.

I had my heart set on seeing some trees, but my trip to Kings Canyon/Sequoia was cancelled due to the fires. I was able to get a spot at the last moment in this place and it was a very good decision. The campground is very scenic and the nearby hike offered a good mix of woods and desert landscaping. Loop B has hookups, but it definitely does not have any sort of rustic appeal, as there is no shade and a lot of large RV's with people watching TV all night. We ended up in A28, which did not have any hookups, but was very quiet and shaded below some gorgeous trees. Overall, I found loop A to have a much nicer feel if you are looking to escape the madness and disconnect for a while. The only caveat is that it is very quiet, with a mix of tents and RVs, so running the generator excessively will make you stand out in the worst way, even if it is allowed. We only ran it for a few hours a day, and never had any issues. I think A02 is definitely the best spot, but A03 and A04 are good, as well. A12-15 will have more road noise, since they are closest to the highway, but I would still say that any spot in A is better than any spot in B, unless you really need hookups. The restrooms were very clean and the overall condition of the campground was very good.We arrived fairly late at night, driving in from LA via Prescott. The drive up 89A into the park was certainly no issue for a 25' RV, but I definitely advise taking the loop via Skull Valley and Iron springs, as opposed to the 89, when approaching Prescott from Congress, if coming up from southern California in an RV. Just make sure to fuel up in Congress, because there are very few facilities beyond that point and you will not pass any services at all on the north side of Prescott/Pioneer Pkwy. The 89A north into Jerome is also a bit tight, but still no issue for a skilled driver in a class C. Definitely not adviseable with a Class A until you get a real good feel for driving.

Weve been returning to Potato Patch for over 30 years and have enjoyed all the improvements. Its always clean, well managed, reasonable rules. Spaces are a little closer than they were 30 years ago but still acceptable. Sites are level, tent areas are level and smooth. We have started at both the upper level that has electrical hookups as well as down below without services. The folks who host are AMAZING and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. The Woodchute Trail is a great hike that ends overlooking the Verde Valley and kids can ride their bicycles safely within the campground.

We will DEFINITELY be back! Our son loved the campground rangers and they enjoyed my son too as well. My son enjoyed it so much because he brought all of his dinosaurs to play in the nature and run his imagination! We might come back with more kids away from the city and technology! The place was well maintained and cleaned! People were friendly and minding their own businesses!
