Pretty cool spot! Balconies caves are worth checking out (and theyre not too difficult to traverse). However, the raccoon camp from earlier reviews is still active, the bugs go crazy, and its super hot. So 4 star if youre in a tent, and 5 star if you have a camper of some sort.

Nice campground with clean facilities, great location for driving to various trailheads. There are some supplies at the camp store but the nearest city is a half hour away so bring what you need if you want to maximize time in park. If I'm remembering correctly the gum tree in my site was leaking sap down so be careful where you place your tent. Overall a quiet, convenient, and friendly camp!

We stayed April 15-17. On Tuesday, 4/16, a bunch of school groups showed up in the group site not very close to our site. I am a retired science teacher and happy to see them learning about nature, but just a heads up that the noise was quite a game changer to the whole camping experience. Site #50 was shaded nicely but our big truck barely fits and it's a really small site for 1 tent (or 2 tents if close to the fire pit). It's private from the road and right above the creek.

It was quite hot during the day. The raccoon in camp was remarkably bold. We adapted. My wife went to the swimming pool multiple times every day. I thought the High Peaks trail was just what I had in mind. I followed the directions I got from the ranger about where to find condors and it paid off big time. My wife's son lives in San Mateo. We'll be back.

This place is awesome! Start your hike early though, it's hot up there.

Seeing condors in the early morning was terrific!

Friendly and cozy campsite.Good variety of shaded, sheltered and sunny sites. It is worth the tricky drive to reach the NP.Lots of great birding in the campground not including the amazing California Condors

The hiking trails are well marked. Make sure to drink a lot as it is very hot. Lots of animals to behold. The condor has Pinnacles as its habitat. Wished We could have seen one.

Wonderful camping adventure. Observed tons of birds and other wildlife. The campground pool helped us survuve the super hot weather.

Pinnacles is lovely and also crowded!
Trailhead parking was full on Saturday morning by 8:15am. After that the parking is further and further - not a problem, just be aware. This also means trails have a lot of people.

Site 50 is definitely not appropriate for a trailer of any kind - but we saw tent campers enjoying it!

Restrooms were clean. Grounds were clean. The tent cabins looked lovely!

The dump station closed right after us due to a leak. Hopefully Pinnacles Recreation got it fixed.

Oh...and we bought wood but man was it hard wood and super dense. Had a very hard time getting it to catch.

Will definitely come back but maybe during a weekday!

Campground was not crowded, which was a good thing, as our campsite was very close to 2 others. Website should show picture, or describe the campsite. Very small for 2 tents. Watch out for pesky raccoon!

We did the high peaks loop, and then hiked in/out to westside picnic area. Both are excellent hikes. Great views of the rocks/balconies.

Great location with lots of wildlife at all hours, beautiful setting and friendly staff. The layout of the camp is a bit weird with widely varying campsite quality. In some cases they are really clustered together and others are more secluded, while some have very little flat land for a tent. Calling for a recommendation before you reserve might be a good idea. Also, the coin op shower had terrible pressure and no lights in the stall after dark. But that sounds like all complaints and I loved our stay.
