Great location for a great hike in the Pinnacles! The tent cabin was very clean and more comfortable than a tent. We stayed in Cabin 80 which was close to many motor homes that had too many lights on well into the night. There were so many stars out but the lights inhibited the viewing. The cabin incudes a picnic table and fire pit which was made it nice to sit outside.

Sites near the RVs are convenient to Camp store and wifi. Floors are showing some wear.

Had an amazing time! Stayed in an electric tent-cabin which was clean and easily accessible. Firepits come with a low grate. There were some gopher holes around so watch your step. Showers are nice and hot with shampoo, conditioner and body wash available. Would definitely recommend!!

I don't even know where to begin about how awful the trip was - the heater provided in the cabin didn't work and there was no one to call after 5pm to address this issue. It got below freezing and a heater was definitely needed. It seems like they should be checking that items work when they are prepping the cabin for new guests. The bathroom/shower situation was unsanitary - the nearest bathroom was clogged for most of the night and again, no one to call. This could be a consistent issue in the campground because there was a used tampon in our firepit. I could understand why someone would not be able to use the bathroom (clogged / too cold to walk that far), but this biohazard was not addressed before we checked in. There was also a screaming child in the tent cabin across the way and, if it was socially acceptable for an adult to carry on like that, I would have been screaming too. In addition to the conditions which the campground could have resolved ahead of time, it probably just wasn't a good time to go. Pitch dark by 5pm, an acorn tree that dropped acorns on our tent all night and a surprising amount of traffic in/out of the park at all hours. We actually checked out after only on night. The park itself is incredible and the hiking is a must but the conditions in the campground are currently intolerable.

The campground is in a great location - in the park, of course, and near trailheads. Our tent cabin was spacious. It took a while to get used to the occasional sound of acorns hitting the roof but it added to the charm. The fan in the cabin helped quite a bit during the warm afternoons. There was a heater, too, but don't rely on that to keep you warm if it gets chilly. There are restrooms (and quite nice ones for a campground) but only one location with showers. The bookstore and separate camp store have relatively limited hours. From what I could tell, the bookstore serves as the Visitor Center but it's not obvious - no maps, displays, uniformed ranger, etc. one usually finds at a Visitor Center. Surprisingly, the Visitor Contact Station at the West Entrance was much closer to a typical Visitor Center.

Cabin 80 was great. The electric hookup was able to support basic wall charging for my EV, but it was at a slightly awkward angle.

Maybe it was because the area was very dry, but walking and driving kicks up a lot of dirt. Skip the sandals and flip flops for hiking boots or sneakers. Be sure to explore the cave trails.

First set of Tent Cabins in the middle of a throughway. Really noisy as RV’s and cars and trucks ALL pass by.

Nights and early mornings were quiet. Lovely bird calls.

Beautiful scenery and hikes. Nice campground, especially sites along the creek. Seems like visiting on the weekdays is much less crowded, plus it's nearly impossible to get a campsite on the weekend anyway.

The tent cabin was awesome. So glad we booked that option. It was nice to only have to set up out our bags upon arrival and have the rest laid out. I also liked the location relative to other items within the park. This is a fairly small place so everything is pretty close. The camp store was nicely equipped. The visitor center kept rather odd hours and the staff there seemed somewhat overwhelmed by the number of visitors.

I do wish the trash and restrooms were less remote. It made for getting plenty of steps in of course which is always good but their policies about dishwashing and food debris are a bit extreme for my liking. Accommodating these requests would have been easier with less remotely dispersed trash receptacles.

Pinnacles was an absolutely beautiful park, great place for those who want to hike around and those who want to hang at the campsite. The amenities were fine, kids had fun at the pool. The paid WiFi was not great, but who comes camping for WiFi :)

Our son was so excited to get his Junior Ranger pin! The staff at the visitor center made the whole experience very special for him, and he spent the rest of the trip telling everyone he met that he is a Junior Ranger. We hiked to Chalone Peak, and the views along the way are amazing. Not a hard hike if you take it slowly and pack plenty of food and water. It took us ~6 hours to do with a grade schooler. At the campsite, we were frustrated about the lack of kindling. You aren't supposed to bring in firewood, nor are you allowed to collect firewood. However, the wood you buy from the store is just very large pieces of oak - no kindling unless you brought a hatchet to chop it up.

Nice campground, friendly staff, great hikes without needing to drive.

Don’t feed the raccoons! They are very cheeky and far too aware of their photogenicism.
