We really enjoyed camping and hiking. We drove in early Friday to hike. It was still in the triple digits so staying at the campground with the pool was a PLUS! We hiked early, hung out at the pool during the day then hiked again late afternoon. The park staff were all very friendly.

Great spot, really close to the start of the Bench Trail but far enough off the path that people aren't walking through your campsite. From here, you can take off hiking to pretty much anywhere in the park without having to drive anywhere. Highly recommended. Of note is the excellent store. Decent prices and great selection of food and other stuff.

Excellent campground with a well-stocked store and great amenities. Wide variation in the sites with shade and tree cover, so choose carefully depending on what you want. We'd definitely come back.

Everyone was terrific...Campsite, book store, Ranger. A gem of a park!

Busy Friday. Lots of parties and noise until late at night. Dirty bathrooms. I guess if you have a campsite during the week away from the groups it will be better. Nice staff though. And beautiful surroundings.

Spacious site in the large campground. We saw lots of birds and animals from the site and this was a real positive. The toilets and showers were clean and well tended. The shop on site and visitor centre were well stocks and had friendly staff. The pool was quite small and not very appealing to be honest. Walking was well signposted and we enjoyed our time here

Not well managed. Site was taken by nearby large group and was very loud at late night. Was able to find a spot in the parking lot which is a little quieter.

Yes the two cave hikes and the high peaks, but everybody goes there. If you want some solitude and if you take pleasure in the "small vistas" and hidden gems, do
- wander up past the reservoir towards North chalone peak,
- saunter the flat south wilderness trail, and
- do a short out and back on the north wilderness trail from its east side.

Spacious and clean campsites, clean bathrooms. Only downside is most sites are not shaded and it was toasty in mid September when we were there.

Loved the pool, but the broken showers and squawking birds made it a less than pleasant experience. No mobile coverage in camp.

Aided by cool, clear weather the campground was fine, camped in a tent, there only for sleeping from about 9P-5A, most of the remainder was hiking. Used the WiFi for phone, it worked well. Shower was fine but could benefit from some rehab. Store was surprisingly well stocked and organized.

The trails were well marked and maintained, most are on the Hiking Project app. Trailhead parking space is limited and most trailheads are over a mile from campground. By starting hike around sun rise, I was nearly always alone on the trail for about 4 hours till around 10A. Trails were never crowded, I think most folks come there to park the RV at the campground.

Moses Spring Trail to Bear Gulch Reservior was the prettiest and easiest trail, well worth early rise to catch morning sun reflecting off the water. Watch out for the Blue Jays.

Very nice national park with great views of craggy peaks, good hikes, and lots of wildlife (deer, condors, vultures, quail, acorn woodpeckers). Though Pinnacles can be very peaceful compared to Yosemite, it’s a popular rock climbing destination so weekdays are best to avoid crowded parking lots and/or trails. The weather was mild in April & May but it’s already warming up. The campground is good; we ended up staying in a group site along a shaded creek bed. However, the campground map is misleading (actually wrong) and there weren’t pictures of all the sites online at the time we made reservations. Some sites are very exposed—no shade and situated next to the main road. You can change sites when you arrive but they charge a $10 change fee. There are hot showers but only after about 3 minutes of running the water. So, be smart and take your shower after someone else! They are very strict about check-out times so you cannot leave your car in the campground after checking out even if you want to do some more hiking before leaving the park. We liked hiking the Bench trail to Bear Gulch. We also hiked up to Condor Gulch trail & around the peaks via the longer but less steep Tunnel/Juniper Canyon trails. The latter is a fantastic trail but watch your footing! Definitely will come back.
