We liked our campsite (133), but our biggest complaint was that the boundaries were unclear, so the next campgrounds tent seemed to be encroaching on ours, making our site feel quite cramped. Overall, we had a great experience at the campground aside from the family next to us that was loud and disruptive our first night, though thats not the parks fault. We were a bit far from the restrooms, but that meant we were also somewhat removed from the school groups, so it was much quieter where we were. At night there were lots of raccoons at the campground, so definitely be careful with food and toiletries storage.

Had a great experience at Pinnacles campground. Campground was very clean and kept up. Not a big deal but with there was a station to wash dishes and also would have liked the camp store to carry fresh fruit. Minor things compared to all the perks. Would highly recommend staying here and we would go back.

I stayed at tent only site133 on 11/17. I've got this site at last minutes. It was Thursday and there were only few campers and very quiet. The site 132, 133, and 134 are on one big area and there is nothing separate each spot, and no privacy. So I was lucky not to have them. Great thing about this spot (and 132 and 134) is whole area is flat so very easy to put several tents. Not so great thing is because there is absolutely no shade, I've got heavy frost covered my tent and was very cold. I think it would be very hot in summer. There is no trees between the site and the main road, so I could hear the cars speeding late night and early morning. Somebody was talking about red ants on this spot, and they were crawling around outer wall of my tent, but somehow they didn't come inside. Next time I will get the site with trees over and around so that there is privacy and protection against sun and frost. But the toilet was super clean and my AT&T phone had good reception. Check in was easy at the store and the staff was very friendly. A box of firewood was $16 including fire starter. It was very cold after 5 pm to morning, so you need an insulating sleeping pad and 15 degree sleeping bag. But during day temperature is warm and perfect for hiking.Above all, I had the best and the most exciting hike of my life on the high peak and bear gulch trail. It has a cave, a lake, and numerous steep and narrow rock steps on 2600 feet high, soaring condors, huge rock formations, rock climbing spots, and amazing views. I will definitely come back many times.

I have camped at the pinnacles several times with my family and always enjoy it. The site we stayed at was one we had never been to. It was flat and a decent size. There is no shade so be sure to bring your own. This group of camp sites are basically all on the same large open area on a large dirt lot. The main issue we had was there were a lot of red ants. Wearing flip flops or going barefoot was out of the question. Bugs are a part of nature but these sites were surrounded by red ant hives. We have teenagers and young children.Taking the shuttle to the park and hiking from the drop off point is super easy and convenient. And after a long day of hiking cooling off in the pool is perfect. The store is incredibly busy at all times but its nice to take the kids in and buy them an ice cream.

We were far away from the restrooms and it seemed that there were far too many people using them, especially when the group sites filled up. And there were usually at least one out of 3 of the toilets clogged. Also there was very little shade at our spot. But the location in regards to the park was great and there was plenty of room for our group to spread out.

Great experience, a wonderful place to hike and the caves were overwhelmingly breathtaking.
