Fabulous service, gorgeous park. The RV sites could use more trees to provide shade

We had a wonderful group stay at Pinnacles National Park. Our group consisted of primarily RV campers and one camper who rented a glamping tent. The sites were pretty even and easy to back into. Signage was clear and visible. The campground was very clean with free 24 hour showers. Staff at both the campground store and park store were very friendly and helpful especially with hiking information/tips. The Bench trail accessible via the campground was a nice option for our campers who wanted an easy, primarily flat meandering trail. Downside the potable water spigot in the RV loop had such low pressure I used a non potable water spigot with higher pressure to fill my RV with intentions of sanitizing later. Shuttles on the weekend are really helpful to offset the lack of parking at trail heads. It is really busy on the weekends so factor that in your daily activities. It helps to do your research on the which trails might be best for your skill set and/or gear on hand. Lots of unprepared people on the moderate trails in regular street clothing/shoes w/no water, maps, and several turned around at the caves w/no headlamps or water shoes.

Excellent, well-informed rangers gave us detailed information about hikes appropriate for our skill and ability. She even had photos of the railings and carved steps so we could gauge more easily whether we felt up to the hike. We were fortunate that Bear Gulch cave was open all the way through. It was fantastic! We were blown away to see condors nesting and researchers working in the high peaks as we happened upon hikers who offered us a peek through their powerful, stationary binoculars. It was a great visit and the campground was immaculate. Fabulous visit!!

very nice campground. we stayed in a rv site, nice and almost level. plenty of water spigots to fill an rv. in certain places through out the grounds the wifi is weak. the sore has almost everything you need except alcohol. I would stay there again!

For early December, excellent weather. Visited both East and West ends and both were delightful. Staff was awesomely helpful.

We had a great stay. The sites are big with plenty of room between them; lots of shaded and open sites depending on your preference. While the website indicates water is available, not all of the spigots are designed for a hose to be attached. If you need water, stop at the spigot marked "drinking water" as you enter the RV loop to the right. The many trails and dirt roads leading out of the campground were perfect for running. We, and our cats, enjoyed watching the turkeys who wandered through several times a day.

Great Springtime experience! We stayed in the RV section of the campground, which has electricity hookups. The weather was perfect during the third week of March. We hiked the Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop and got our feet just a little wet in the caves. We went on to the reservoir, which was a beautiful and peaceful place. When we got back to the Bear Gulch Visitor Center (which was closed) we ate our picnic lunch then decided to do one more hike. We took the Condor Gulch trail just to the View Point. It was a bit strenuous for us (in our 50s) and the sun was pretty intense. We were rewarded with the sighting of a California Condor and sharing the experience with others on the trail. Before we left the next day, we rode our e-bikes to Old Pinnacles and then then to Bear Gulch and back to the campground. The store was nice, dump station convenient and electricity at our site was a bonus. We will come again to hike the Old Pinnacles Trail to Balconies Cave.

Nice campground with conveniently located camp store and visitor center. The facilities are well maintained and much appreciated. Beautiful little NP where all hiking trails are accessible from the campground, however, it adds a couple miles to the hikes so most choose to drive in closer to the trailheads.

The only negative is the lack of bathrooms. More are needed, especially around the tent cabins.

Sites are at wonky angles to each other, so if people back in too far they wind up in your site. On top of that, there were multiple tenters in the RV electric sites, especially over the weekend. Bathhouse was a long way from the campground, up by the ranger station. We were under a huge tree, so lots of shade, but also lots of pollen. Firewood was $17/box!!
But it’s a National Park & there was a small pool!

No usable Verizon signal. T-Mobile speeds were about 10 Mbps download and 3Mbps upload. AT&T was 300/3 but intermittent. Verizon and T-Mobile were with a roof mounted Pepwave antenna. Starlink worked well but you may have difficulty with tree cover depending on your site.

Our site was angled oddly such that our drivers side neighbors were very close. Lots of weird orientation here. We had a large oak tree shading our site with low branches that touched our Airstream. The road condition in the loop is very poor with deep potholes throughout. The views from the campground aren't particularly good to make up for it either - you can't see the Pinnacles. The site was level side to side.

Tons of birds throughout the campground.

Value for the money was very poor at $59 a night - outrageous for a poorly maintained NPS campground.

We had a great experience at our Pinnacles campground! It was clean, quiet, and not overcrowded even though all campgrounds were booked. We had plenty of space for ourselves and all campers were peaceful and respectful.

This little park is really a gem. In January, the weather can be great. The improvements being made are going to be good. We meet the nicest people there!

Loved our stay at Pinnacles. Great stargazing, loved how quiet it was. So close to all the trails and sights. The dump station didn’t get unlocked until 9:30am and there was a long line and I know we were on a tight schedule so that was a little frustrating. Could use more trash bins, dumpsters are very spread out. Overall I’d stay here again.

Not sure how I feel about the 10 or so new tent cabins. The paid internet is a nice feature because of the remoteness and lack of any other way to communicate.
@CathyC251 · Camped on Feb 18, 2021 at Campsite #91
Campground was clean and beautiful. Easy access to some amazing hikes. I wish that it was a full-hookup RV site, but it was great to have electricity. The biggest bummer was having absolutely no cell coverage, including with our hotspot. While I would love to come back, it's difficult to not have any connection for more than a few days.
