Great campground. Good AT&T cell coverage. Pit toilets were clean but flush would be better.

The site (74) itself was reasonably private, with the exception of having one of the few water sources, resulting in random visits by people needing water. Being on a narrow one-way loop, it would have been good to know ahead of time that this was a "drive-in", not a "back-in" site; trailers need to back in, so we had to turn around and go backward through the loop.

campsite was very good, no complaints. Raccoons are very pesky and will try to snatch your food if left the slightest bit unattended.

The women the gate to the rangers at the trail head were friendly and helpful!

Stayed at campsite #74. When we first got there, there was no table at the site so we had to find one to use. A LOT OF RACCOONS SO KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR BELONGINGS. We were having to fight the raccoons off the entire night. Other than that, its a nice campsite. Spot #74 is secluded and tucked behind thick brush so you have a lot of privacy. It also has its own water spout and is super close to the bathrooms. The bathroom close to the site was closed, but they has super clean port-a-potties (but no running water to wash your hands with after).

Another great weekend at Pinnacles! Got COLD (low 30s) on a November night. Tons of birds and things in the campground. Caves are a challenge for the casual hiker but can't-miss. What a good park!

The only option for camping anywhere near Pinnacles NP - and very high prices to go with it. The campground has been outsourced to a concessionaire, so the privatization explains the extraordinarily high price, which is really a barrier to entry for families of limited means, which is a shame to see in a national park. The campground is well-run, bathrooms very clean and the tent-camping sites offer significant privacy. The on-site store probably has the best range of offerings - food, supplies, outdoors gear and souvenirs - I've ever seen at a national park campground. Mobile phone service was spotty but we observed the construction of a cell tower just outside the east entrance of the park so that might change soon. (For free camping, BLM has several campgrounds approx. 30 minutes drive SE of the east entrance of Pinnacles. They are spacious and free, first-come, first-serve, but have no water or electricity. The nearest is Sweetwater Campground and then there are others further southeast.)

Stayed in site #74. It get sun at about 9-9:30am (mid-November) which was nice as it was kinda chilly and somewhat moist, although someone from Portland or Seattle would laugh outright at that statement! Anyway, that site has water right there and a small (public) path to the restrooms about 75 feet away. All of the sites on the far loop away from the (rather nice) little store, and away form the bigger RV hookups are compact, semi-private and each has it's own charm. The RV parking area in the "flats" are exposed and bare, but all in all it's a pleasant campground and only minutes from the parking areas at the trail heads (shuttle service was not running re: Covid Times). The hiking is EPIC and while the High Peaks Trail is not for the feint of heart, the park is World Class, esp. given that it is one hour south of one of the bigger cities on the West Coast. We LOVED it and this was our second trip in less than a year. Def going back at some point and HIGHLY recommend. Don't forget that you will have an addition $35 park fee on top of your camping fees unless you have a senior lifetime pass which you can buy for $80 if/when you are 62. Well worth the cost if you frequent other Nat. Parks.

This camp site is right next to the bathroom path and puddle of standing water. The other sides of the campsite are surrounded by poison oak. Not great for kids but great for privacy.

We had a great campsite--#74. Private, close to water, bathroom. Good hiking. One disappointment--didn't see any condors, as our binoculars were inadequate. The caves were closed due to Covid.

My Pinnacles camping trip was spot on! This was a relaxing, getting in touch with my creative side while immersing myself in natural beauty. Time spent with fellow naturalist was rewarding and brought peace and tranquility to my soul. I recommend you take the time to explore, pause and walk with Mother Nature in Pinnacles National Park!

Sites varied quite a bit with respect to privacy, so choose carefully. Overall, nice, smaller campground. Good little store and nice NPS souvenir store. Firewood bought in store is delivered to your site - nice feature : )
@AnthonyS846 · Camped on Feb 26, 2021 at Campsite #74
I didn't realize park is so busy on weekends. NPS should limit no. of people and charge them more (or at least something) to get in.

I don't think most people appreciate hiking 2+ miles each way from overflow parking to get to where the good trails are located.

Also did not realize RV Waste Dump could get closed because it was full. How often does that happen?
