On they way in the sign says all campers must check in. There's no parking for RVs anywhere close. We parked in front of the no parking signs because we couldn't find a place where we would fit and not get stuck. In front of the store it says you don't need to check in if you know your spot number. Well, make up your mind! Most sites are spacious and relatively private. Site 12 had plenty of room for our 25' trailer and our truck. The site was lumpy and unlevel, critters have been digging a lot, it could use some maintenance. None of this stopped us from having a great weekend.

Very good campsites, just very busy as a consequence. Perfect for an easy camping trip they have just about anything you'd need.

Campsites 12, 13, & 14 are right next to each other. There is no separation between the sites. Beware the raccoons. They hide out in the bushes behind the campsite, and they are pretty fearless. They will scavenge the site and enter any open door. Car or tent. They come at you in groups of two or three. While you deal with one, the other two take advantage of the situation.

We found the campground sites and bathrooms were clean. The camp store employees were very helpful in answering questions, and the store was well stocked with essentials. The easy hiking trail at the end, where the group sites are, was dotted with massive old oak trees. Maybe some as old as 200 years. You're in awe just seeing these beauties! Saw lots of animal tracks, wildflowers, birds, and a view of the Pinnacels too.

We went here for the first time in our travel trailer. They did have a dump station but no potable water to fill up at the dump station. Did find one hose bibb that a hose could be connected to for filling your freshtank in the RV hookup area, but we had already set up camp in a different area. Wish they would have had signs or info for that. Bathrooms were ok but one time I went in the urinal was backed up. Looked fairly clean, though I didn't use it much. Lots of fun hikes to do with great views and went through the Bear Gulch Cave, which was awesome. Very pretty place, even though it is pretty small for a national park. The campground had some very beautiful and shady sites back in the woods.

The campsites are pricey, but for us it was worth the convenience of being so close to the park. The bathrooms were well attended to and cleaned multiple times per day. We really enjoyed the hike to North Chalone Peak also!

Clean bathrooms and drinkable water available at all times. Campgrounds are pretty close to each other and not very isolated so keep that in mind. No phone coverage whatsoever. Great way to disconnect! Trails and caves are cool, they could use better signs but they are worth it. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for kids but for adults who like to hike this is an amazing experience. Beware of raccoons at night :) they will come for your food. We had s great time and definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Family Trip. The visitor center staff and Rangers were available for questions, helpful and cheery. The shuttle driver was extremely knowledgeable and proud of this beautiful park. Don't hesitate to ask for information. Although cold at night in November the night sky is amazing. Watch for condors (we saw 14) coming over ridge at dusk.

When we arrived to the campsite mid-afternoon our campsite was in full sunlight and HOT. Our campsite did not have many trees giving it shade. The good thing was next morning when we rose at 6AM to start hiking early, our campsite was one of the first to have sun which was very welcome when the temperature was in the low-forties!!
Hiking is fabulous in the Pinnacles Park because of the diversity of conditions - open, sunny rocky trails to paths under the trees and shaded. We started early to avoid the afternoon heat. Bring lots of water and some food to keep you going. Views are magnificent! Many on the trail before us had seen condors. We looked for them but mainly saw turkey vultures and maybe a few peregrines. I was grateful to have a walking / hiking pole to keep my balance and assist in both downward and upward climbing.
The water in the swimming pool was too cold to swim in but felt great to cool the feet.

Lovely stay. Beautiful, clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and very helpful in navigating the CA governors mandate of "no camping" during COVID. We are full time RVers and are therefore exempt from the mandate. We were able to extend our stay from 2 to 5 nights. Great hiking!

Campground spot 12 was great. We had deer and turkeys visit our site. Only complaint was bugs, we went when it was cooler so not a huge issue but I can see it being a problem in warmer months. They either need to spray or put fly bags on trees near by. Bring your bikes! We biked to trail head few miles away.
