This is a nice spot located in a beautiful place. Quiet except for the frogs and hoot owls.

We had an excellent time here, doing multiple trails that were all awesome. We were lucky to see condors. Wow! We could have stayed here a whole week if we had had the time and more reservation access. Note: we reserved one of the RV electric sites - and know that they are ONLY electric (no water!) which was a surprise but we just filled up at the park but still we would have preferred to sanitize in advance. The showers were great. Birdwatching excellent. Starviewing sublime (especially if you go up the road to the Peak View area). The shuttles worked well and were needed since no parking was available quickly up the road.

I'd rate this as stellar, because it is an awesome park with great hikes. The campground, however, isn't one of the most thought out and maintained. We were in an RV site with electric only. The bathrooms and showers were a hefty walk and that was probably more concerning to tent campers. Also, we were heating the RV as it was frigid winter weather, but the battery alarm went off in the middle of the night and the battery was extremely low even though we were plugged in. When we tested our electric later there was no problem, so the issue must have been with faulty grounding at the site. This has been mentioned by other campers in reviews we read. Since we are newbies at RV camping, we learned of a device to protect your electronics when you meet faulty power boxes like the one at site 133D. Finally, we came prepped for the 3 mile ride/2.5 mile walk to the trailheads by bringing bikes. Unless you arrive real early, and I'd say this applies to any day of the week, you will not get parking near the trailhead. The park seems to provide shuttles on some big holidays but having a bike (and helmet for the steepish road ahead) is a handy way to get started with those great walks.

Great campground, although, our site had low voltage on the pedestal. The host moved us without any issue. Easy access to hiking trails by shuttle that runs every 30 minutes. Trails are amazing. We will be back soon.

Disappointing compared to other national parks - a large mostly dirt area with white chalk lines to mark your site.

Everything went great! I booked via rec.gov and it was a seemless experience. Upon arrival, checking in was very easy, and if I needed to arrive after business hours (5pm), there is online check in as well. The camp site was very organized, guests there were very respectful, and the bathroom + showers were cleaned daily. I liked that the showers had hot water as well! Electricity at the camp site worked fine. The campstore was also very convenient, it had everything you could look for and more (wood, food, bug spray, dessert, snacks, gifts) Hiking was great as usual. Check out was simple as well, nothing needed for that. I would come back!

This is a campground run by a contractor to the National Park Service. We had a very enjoyable stay. The only hookup available is electricity at the RV area of the park. This area was kind of boring, like a big parking lot. But it was clean and level. Our RV does not need hookups, so we were able to use one of the "tent sites" (#77). This was great. A nice spot in the woods with picnic table and fire ring. The setup is intended for car campers, so there are plenty of fresh water stations and rest rooms (porta-johns, but with legit hand-washing stations) throughout the park. There is a dump station near the front of the park. (Note that this is a no-generator park.)The sites are pretty level, the ground at some are more damp than others due to the varying amounts of shade. But most were good even just a few days after heavy rains had come through. There is a camp store with lots of reasonably-priced goods, including firewood. You can pay for WiFi to use near the store: $3/hr, $7/24 Hrs. No cell signal whatsoever, otherwise, at lease on Verizon. The showers (free) were the cleanest and nicest I have EVER seen at a National Park facility. They even had those toiletry dispensers like at a hotel. Lots of good hiking, mostly pretty easy. The weather was perfect: mid-60's in the day, upper 30's at night, great for a roaring campfire both nights, along with our portable Christmas tree. The campers next to us were playing classic Christmas music. It was great... BTW, we didn't use, but their cabins were also excellent. Clean and handicapped accessible, with sanitary coverings on the mattresses. They even had small solar panels with battery and LED overhead lights at the entry door. We camped at Pinnacles National Park in a small RV.

Excellent base for some great hikes. Sites very level though felt a little open/overlooked. Facilities clean. Excellent site shop with everything you could need & staff super knowledgeable.

The bathrooms need a lot of work.
There was construction taking place creating a lot of noice and dust.

The caves are a must see - but make sure they are open (they have seasonal closures).
The condors are around usually early morning and late evening (sunrise and sunset), so plan an evening hike if you want a better chance to see them.

The campground location is excellent. We were able to walk to the trailhead and didn't have to drive after parking our travel trailer. The campground was very basic with just electricity, but met our needs while hiking. The site was fairly level and water was located nearby. Unfortunately, the women's restroom only had one pay shower that was operational for the entire campground. It was not a busy time so it was not an issue. However, of the campground were full, I think this would have been a problem. Some of the campsites have trees, so it we were to go again, we would look for one of the prettier sites with trees. Our site was very bare, but fairly level. Access was easy and I would stay here again mainly because of the close proximity to the gorgeous park.

My biggest complaint is that I was forced to leave a day early due to the inability to utilize the dump station before 9:30am (when the store opened). Clerks in the store refused to work with me. I needed to be on the road much earlier, therefore I left in the afternoon before they locked down the lid at the dump. Lost 1 nights payment and also had to pay another campground for the night.

Great campground but probably too hot in summer. Excellent hiking. Lots of condors sightings! Campground full but park not crowded. Some RV sites are like parking spots while others are great. Nice to have electricity!

This is a wonderful place to camp and hike. We chose a "tent" site because they are more secluded and we have a self contained camper van. We don't need water, electricity, or sewer hook-up. Those things are available in the RV area.

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the trails - even on a leash. The campground area does allow dogs on a leash, however

Kristen was a great listener who really paid attention to detail. If we couldn't find exactly what I was looking for she came up with alternative suggestions. She was so pleasant and helpful it is one of the best experiences I've ever had. I was truly amazed.

The campground was so beautiful, wild and I saw more wildlife here than any other campground. Good job! However, the showers are more an afterthought and need some TLC.
