This is a nice spot located in a beautiful place. Quiet except for the frogs and hoot owls.

We had an excellent time here, doing multiple trails that were all awesome. We were lucky to see condors. Wow! We could have stayed here a whole week if we had had the time and more reservation access. Note: we reserved one of the RV electric sites - and know that they are ONLY electric (no water!) which was a surprise but we just filled up at the park but still we would have preferred to sanitize in advance. The showers were great. Birdwatching excellent. Starviewing sublime (especially if you go up the road to the Peak View area). The shuttles worked well and were needed since no parking was available quickly up the road.

I'd rate this as stellar, because it is an awesome park with great hikes. The campground, however, isn't one of the most thought out and maintained. We were in an RV site with electric only. The bathrooms and showers were a hefty walk and that was probably more concerning to tent campers. Also, we were heating the RV as it was frigid winter weather, but the battery alarm went off in the middle of the night and the battery was extremely low even though we were plugged in. When we tested our electric later there was no problem, so the issue must have been with faulty grounding at the site. This has been mentioned by other campers in reviews we read. Since we are newbies at RV camping, we learned of a device to protect your electronics when you meet faulty power boxes like the one at site 133D. Finally, we came prepped for the 3 mile ride/2.5 mile walk to the trailheads by bringing bikes. Unless you arrive real early, and I'd say this applies to any day of the week, you will not get parking near the trailhead. The park seems to provide shuttles on some big holidays but having a bike (and helmet for the steepish road ahead) is a handy way to get started with those great walks.

Great campground, although, our site had low voltage on the pedestal. The host moved us without any issue. Easy access to hiking trails by shuttle that runs every 30 minutes. Trails are amazing. We will be back soon.

Disappointing compared to other national parks - a large mostly dirt area with white chalk lines to mark your site.

Everything went great! I booked via rec.gov and it was a seemless experience. Upon arrival, checking in was very easy, and if I needed to arrive after business hours (5pm), there is online check in as well. The camp site was very organized, guests there were very respectful, and the bathroom + showers were cleaned daily. I liked that the showers had hot water as well! Electricity at the camp site worked fine. The campstore was also very convenient, it had everything you could look for and more (wood, food, bug spray, dessert, snacks, gifts) Hiking was great as usual. Check out was simple as well, nothing needed for that. I would come back!

This is a campground run by a contractor to the National Park Service. We had a very enjoyable stay. The only hookup available is electricity at the RV area of the park. This area was kind of boring, like a big parking lot. But it was clean and level. Our RV does not need hookups, so we were able to use one of the "tent sites" (#77). This was great. A nice spot in the woods with picnic table and fire ring. The setup is intended for car campers, so there are plenty of fresh water stations and rest rooms (porta-johns, but with legit hand-washing stations) throughout the park. There is a dump station near the front of the park. (Note that this is a no-generator park.)The sites are pretty level, the ground at some are more damp than others due to the varying amounts of shade. But most were good even just a few days after heavy rains had come through. There is a camp store with lots of reasonably-priced goods, including firewood. You can pay for WiFi to use near the store: $3/hr, $7/24 Hrs. No cell signal whatsoever, otherwise, at lease on Verizon. The showers (free) were the cleanest and nicest I have EVER seen at a National Park facility. They even had those toiletry dispensers like at a hotel. Lots of good hiking, mostly pretty easy. The weather was perfect: mid-60's in the day, upper 30's at night, great for a roaring campfire both nights, along with our portable Christmas tree. The campers next to us were playing classic Christmas music. It was great... BTW, we didn't use, but their cabins were also excellent. Clean and handicapped accessible, with sanitary coverings on the mattresses. They even had small solar panels with battery and LED overhead lights at the entry door. We camped at Pinnacles National Park in a small RV.

The bathrooms need a lot of work.
There was construction taking place creating a lot of noice and dust.

We had a good stay here. There is a store nearby with necessities, and some trails. Lots of wild animals nearby, more than any other campgrounds i've stayed at in the bay area. saw pheasants, deer, coyote, raccoons come right into the campsite at night. The RV sites had electricity only, no water. but there were facilities nearby with water and toilets. There is a shuttle that takes you to hiking trails from the campground. the stars at night were amazing. Unobstructed views

We visited in late October. The campground is well maintained and spacious. We explored the trails that were accessible to me in a mobility scooter and my husband went in the cave trail. We appreciated the efforts the park service makes to allow access while protecting the bats and condors! I would have liked more info about those efforts and those animals. I love Ranger Talks. Recognizing that might not be feasible during the off season perhaps there could be videos?

This was our least favorite campground of our trip. It felt and looked like we were camping in the desert. The pool and restroom were clear on the other side of the campground. It would be nice to have at least one restroom on both sides. We did very much enjoy all of the wildlife. We saw tons of chipmunks, a raccoon, and multiple deer with their babies in our campsite. Unfortunately because of the timing we were there, the weather was so hot we werent able to go hiking. And the caves were closed due to bats. The caves for the whole reason I chose medicals campground so we were disappointed that they were closed. Pinnacles campground was also pretty difficult to get to, with miles and miles are winding in twisting roads. Overall, it was fine, just not our favorite.

We didn't get there due to 80 mile per hour winds on our nearby highway. I called the campground to cancel but it went to voice mail every time I called. I left messages but no one returned my call. I called the ranger station (tried all extensions) and had the same experience. I got the phone #s from the recreation.gov website which was very user unfriendly about cancellations. A couple of days later, I was concerned about this reservation and no one calling back. I went online and searched for probably a half hour and finally found a phone number that worked for making cancellations. I was told that 2 days would be refunded, but it appears that only part of the 2 days was refunded ($60 something out of $250). It was bad enough we had the disappointment of not going on the trip, but to deal with the very poor website and personnel not responding to phone calls or messages just left a bad impression.

Great hiking trails, scenic campground location. Plan your shower in advance as there are only 2 for men, 2 for women in a bathhouse that serves the entire campground.

Condors soaring over the campground, a swimming pool to escape the heat, and a very relaxed, family-friendly mood. We had an excellent two-night stay during a heatwave in April 2022. Worth every penny. Will go back.

Campground was a wonderful place to rest and relax while watching wild turkey and deer graze through the sites. Coyote scampered through and howled at night. The nearby creek supports croaking frogs and condor soar high above. We saw more wildlife here in the 3 days we camped than we have in a long time during many camping trips elsewhere. We didn't have any cell service with our Verizon carrier but we used a friend's hot spot for what we needed. Bear Gulch trail to and through the cave was beautiful as was the trail to and through Balcony Cave. Weather was perfect for hiking.

Very good campground. Easy to get into our trailer site and easy walk to bathrooms, visitor center, store, etc. Sites are well spaced. However, there are NOT enough bathrooms for all the people that this campground can hold. Lots of waiting.

Great area for hiking, though busy on the weekend. Interesting variety of hikes for all levels.
