Bathrooms are designed for "environmental friendliness" rather than their actual function of hygiene. Sinks require holding the handle down with one hand to wash, making it impossible to get effectively clean. Bad design under normal circumstances, horrible in a pandemic. Toilet paper is so thin that is takes 12 feet of toilet paper to prevent it from shredding when you use it and contaminating your hands (also a horrible hygiene issue) and is so fragile that it's impossible to unroll it without reaching into the dispenser and unrolling the roll; the natural result is piles of shredded toilet paper all over the floors.
Only one functional shower for 134 campsites, of which 11 are group campsites holding up to 30 people each. (There were two showers total, which is still insufficient.)
Park has some lovely spots, but was horribly crowded; the road to the trails was closed on arrival of the rangers in the morning because the parking lots were already full and people were parking illegally on the road.
Once we got out on the trails (after waiting 1.5 hours in line to get in) the walks were lovely and we enjoyed seeing the condors. The scenery was reasonably green in early April despite poor rainfall, with chapparal covered hillsides and lovely rock formations. There are not many trails that are appropriate for children, however, so 2-3 days in the park was enough to see what we could.
I am glad we went but I don't feel a need to ever go back.
