We really enjoyed camping at the Pinnacles campground. We liked seeing the Balconies caves and hiking. Having the shuttle is really great. The driver was helpful and we got dropped off where we wanted to be and picked up at the end of the day. A very fun experience.

This is a nice campground right in the park. We stayed during February and the park was not busy at all. We were able to park at all the trailheads. That said, this place does get busy in the springtime and summer. We had 30am hookup which worked well. Water spigots are throughout the campsite. Easy dump station on the way out. The sites were spread out and level.

Scheduled power outage, the store was closed and no wifi. Campground is clean and quiet. We stayed in RV parking with an allowed tent, but that meant the closest bathroom was pretty far away. Would love to try it again when the pool is open and the electricity is on.

Great stargazing opportunities. Very clean showers. For RV spots: Electricity hookup at every site, water fill is only at a few common locations with threaded hose connector, dumping is at a single location.

This is a very nice campground within the national park that offers water and electricity, but no sewer. There are well-maintained flush toilets in a couple of locations and there are showers available in one location as well. The campground is operated out of the camp store, which has limited hours. This is my one big complaint about the campground. The dump station is locked and can only be accessed by obtaining the key from the camp store. The store does not open until 9:30 am, so if you are trying to hit the road early for your next destination or for home, you are out of luck. Other than that it is a very pleasant experience inside the national park.

Beautiful park. There was water available throughout the park to fill up my tank plus a spigot right by my campsite. The people in the store were very nice and helpful.

The shuttle route needs to be changed; move it to the parking lot! The way it is now, RVs are backed up waiting for access to the dump station and the fact that the dump station is padlocked is ridiculous, making each user walk to the store to get the key to unlock and then lock!!! This campground is too nice for such games.

dark skies, many trails can still be hiked in the rain

Great location to relax between hikes to some very unique and reachable locations. Bring a light for dark corridors when hiking. And Water! Sites are spacious and fit my 37' fiver easily, along with tow vehicle. Electric only (30 amp) but water is all around and accessible to fill up. Dump station is available by the store. If a bigger rig, you'll need to go to the larger parking area to turn around to get access to the dumper. Staff is very responsive and everything is well maintained and clean.

Had a fabulous trip even though temps got up to 95 my last day there...just hung out at the pool. The few trails I hiked were well marked and very pretty. The campground is extremely clean and well maintained, the store well stocked and the staff helpful and friendly. Be aware that if you have Verizon you will NOT have cell service in the campground but I did receive a call out on trail. I was able to purchase wi-fi so my pet-sitter could contact me in an emergency. I will definitely be back in the fall with some hiking buddies!

This was our first time at Pinnacles and we truly enjoyed the whole Eastern part with the campground. The location was also a great central location for trips to Gilroy and Monterey.

Sites nice, scenic area, quiet. No hot water in showers was the one major drawback. No cell service, but that was mentioned in advance. Inexpensive Wifi ($10 for up to a week) was nice. Good visitor center and store a short walk away. All major trail heads on this side of park within a 15 minute drive.

We camped in our RV. The sites are clean and spacious. Our site was under a majestic tree that kept our rig shaded for most of the day. We used the shuttle bus to get to the trailhead. Super convenient.

Wonderful hiking, comfortable campground but fewer restrooms than I would have expected.

We love the park, stay every year in Feb with a group of friends and have a great time. The reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 is the RV dump station. They now padlock it and you need to go into the store for the key; really delays everyone trying to dump and leave. And you guessed it, when we go to dump and leave, the key was nowhere to be found so we (and a lot of others) had to leave with full tanks. 2nd issue is with the park shuttle; they load and unload passengers right next to the dump station. With someone dumping and the shuttle parked, the road is blocked. Also, when in line waiting to dump, you have to leave room for or move out of the way of the shuttle (not always an easy task with a trailer and traffic) because it uses the dump station road as its turnaround. They should move the shuttle station to the parking lot behind the store, safer and more convenient for all.

Enjoyed the park as always. We stayed in the RV section, and check in was easy. Camping was nice, no complaints. They turned a couple of the nice RV spots into tent cabins unfortunately. The dump station has some issues, so you have to get the key, log in your estimated dump, and return the key. It can take a while if they are busy with someone else.

This was my first time at Pinnacles and I truly enjoyed it. I camped for one night and hiked an 11 mile loop that goes through the main parts of the park. The park is beautiful, the reservoir and caves are not to be missed. We took a very long break in that area. I went in early December and temperatures were ideal for hiking. I can see it would be very hot in the summer since trails are mostly exposed. Love that it is a small park, with one main campground and all the needed amenities. Would like to come back and explore the West part of the park next time.

The CG was very pleasant. Especially appreciate the quiet, even on weekends. For the most part the facilities are well maintained. The restrooms were cleaned on a daily basis.

124 dollars for 2 days of electricity and a site plus 30 dollars extortion for a federal park pass which expires in 7 days. Tent campers in RV spots just for the electric. Maybe if you let people use generators, tent users wouldn’t book RV sites. Caves closed and finally the dump station locked until 9:30 am and you can’t rinse your tank. Most people skip dumping because they leave before 9:30 on get away day. Overall, you pay way less and get more dry camping or hooking up at a KOA.

Pros: nice hiking trails. Condor watch. Star watch.

Con 1: Dump station opens 9:30am - 5:00pm only. And there is only ONE dump station for the entire RV campground. And dump ONLY black water. NO gray water dump is allowed. And NO flushing black water tank is allowed.

Con 2: The rangers’ office changed my site to another place that I didn’t like. I reserved site 94 because there was a big tree next to it. But they sent me an email stating they changed my site to 90 without a reason. Ridiculous!

I don’t think I will come back again if they don’t improve the dump situation.
