Well developed camp ground with showers and a camp storeVery expensive especially on the weekends - $125 for 2 nights and you can only book a minimum of 2 nights for the weekend

Pinnacles National Park is a magical place, and didn't disappoint this time. Very green, although creeks are mostly dry in the lower reaches. Birds singing and flying everywhere. However, the signs of the damage done to the park system by the current federal administration are obvious. The campground pit toilets had not been pumped out for too long and were close to full. Based on the notes from the pumping service, no pumping is scheduled for another week, by which time some units will be unusable. Several of the less popular trails have not been maintained this spring (South Wilderness Trail in particular), which has a dangerous slipout and requires navigating past poison oak growing over the trail.

We stayed in site 63 which did not have much shade but since we went mid-March that wasn't a problem. This site only had room for our one tent as well. It was located fairly close to several porta potties with hand washing stations that were well maintained. Actual bathrooms with flushing toilets were about a 5 minute walk away. The park had ample hiking and sightseeing opportunities including caves, california condors and several wildflower species although we were a bit early for the supposed superbloom. After a long day of hiking there were free showers located next to the camp store which had fire wood, souvenirs, and basic amenities. Overall all, we had a fantastic stay and will return in the future.

If you want to see the condors in the fall/winter, I think the best times are really early morning and early evening. We saw them from the parking lot and our campsite at those hours. We did the high peaks trail and didn't see them at all because they were probably out hunting. The campsites are all pretty well maintained. They can be quite close together, so that's an issue with privacy. Also, the bathrooms in the loop towards the interior were portables, so it wasn't very nice. Night time temperatures got really cold. It was several degrees colder than what I could find when looking at temperatures in Holister. I would use national weather service and search for Pinnacles. Those temperatures were more accurate.

Stayed at campsite 63 for 2 nights in Nov 2023. The campsite is close to the bench trail which takes you to the famous places in Pinnacles.Pros:1. Close to public washroom, and water taps.2. Close to the bench trail.3. Comes with fire pit, and picnic table4. Not sure about other campsites, but I could get some network coverage on this campsite (T-Mobile)5. Stargazing is fun on a clear night, especially during new moon.Cons:1. The campsite is right beside the road, small, and less private compared to the others2. No shade so probably gets hot during the day

This was my first time visiting the east side of Pinnacles National Park. We camped one night en route to Jalama Beach, and our stay was wonderful. The park is incredibly beautiful, diverse, and quiet. We hiked to the reservoir (the bat cave trail was closed during our stay), which was a short but beautiful hike to a small lake. I would love to go back stay longer so I can hike more of the trails.

This is a wonderful park! Close to Bay Area residents but feeling nicely remote and out-of-the-way. Very nice campground with lots of different kinds of campsite settings. Great hikes! Brought a 7-year-old for his first hike, and he loved the Condor Gulch trail to the overview, and the Talus Caves and Reservoir trails. Raccoons are VERY bold--while we were attending to our fire around 7 PM, a raccoon climbed right onto our picnic table to steal food as we had our backs turned! YIKES!

We had a happy visit to Pinnacles National Park Campground. Our campsites were clean and the firewood was delivered in a timely manner. The pool was a favorite with the kids and the gift shop had lots of unique and relevant items. The porta-poties were mostly clean and the hand washing options were adequate. Our issue was the noise and repeated lack of respect for quiet time.

We had a very nice experience on our first trip to Pinnacles. While we didn't get to see any condors on this trip, this gives us a reason to return!

Nicely spaced sites. I appreciate the quiet natural settings since the campground does not allow generators.

Pinnacles has been an old favorite for hikes and wildflowers in the spring. This visit was no exception. When we noticed other campers leaving the hoods up on their cars we learned from them that ground squirrels are a large problem in the campground as they are notorious for getting into the engine compartment and chewing things up. I think it would be helpful if this information was posted somewhere.

Bathrooms near our site were closed, which was a little inconvenient. But the beauty of the area and seeing at least 10 condors made up for it. Amazing spot!
@PatriciaV301 · Camped on May 9, 2021 at Campsite #63
We reserved site C63, which was advertised as a site with shade. However, when we checked in at 1 pm, this site had absolutely no shade, was extremely hot (temp was in the 80s). When we inquired about changing sites was informed we would have to pay $10 change fee, which is 25-50% of the campsite cost (senior/reg). We tried taking a nap in our tent with an extra canopy over since we had been up since 4:30 am and had hiked 6 miles already but that was impossible due to the heat. Instead we went for a drive to the Western entrance of the park and returned to the campsite at 10 pm.
Later, we found out that c63 used to be on the other side of the road (still shows that spot on the campground map) but post number was changed which put c63 in the shade less site.

This campsite was bot as advertised and, as such, we were not able to utilize it until the sun was down. The change fee is excessive.

Even with the Bear Gulch cave closed because of COVID-19 (or to preserve bats' comfort in their cave home in some times of year), the Moses Spring Trail to Rim Trail loop is a must-do! Moses Spring is gently technical and I recommend it for the uphill track, then come back to the parking on the easier Rim Trail for incredible views into the valley.

Reserve your campsite months in advance. The best sites and weekends, holidays are taken first! That said, even when full, it does not feel crowded. It does get hot, end of September was 95 degrees. NOTE: The pool is closed because of Covid! A campsite with no shade can be brutal! Google best campsites will make your experience much better. Pinnacle is a hidden gem, the staff is marvellous!

Camping at Pinnacles was an easy weekend getaway! Due to the fires and first responders, the main hikes were closed. Pool was also closed. Bring binoculars and sunscreen for an afternoon of watching the condors play, and to seek the Milky Way after sunset! Grab some ice cream from the store to cool off, and have fun spotting turkeys, quails, camp robbers, and woodpeckers!

A lot of revamped campsites, and the yurts look great. Some sites are still closed. The bathrooms by the campsite was in excellent condition. Wonderful location near the bay area to get away, and there's no cell service so you can really unplug.
